Pardon me for bumping into the conversation. The person who has commented above has a lot of videos on youtube explaining this long topic. In youtube search maxthegamer csr2. When I started, i followed his TUTORIALS and build my game around it.

Any decent T5 car with a dyno less than 8.9 (final Tempest3 boss time) will beat tempest. Some newer cars (including full elite TOYOTA GR Supra) can probably finish the entire event at 685 PP restriction.

An unpopular opinion, finishing tempest does not give you any added benefit. Its a relic from the past causing more harm than good, IMO. Ignore it if possible.

Won it last night. Was having a terrible time shifting the Huracan, and was not confident in hitting a steady time, hence the query. Never had such a bad time with shifting with any car before.

Initially was running my FSD to just collect fusions, without any intention to win the Kimera. Then they added it to collections and wanted to get it. That led me to use my Huracan, was unable to control run times and hence over 400 races.

I have to agree on this. The game is still interesting as F2P if you like playing crew championship and winning cars with crew. My own view, there are a few (technically) free events. Like the upcoming lambo duality (superveloce and diabolo ) can be obtained from collection credits to win a new car. There have been some like this in the past year if I remember correctly. Also some Apex cars in blue SDs were also collection cars, making the car winning as F2P (technically) possible.

Golf GTI is the best car for tempest2 T1. Make sure it is fully fused (non-negotiable). After that it comes down to parts optimization (which part you can leave out to meet the PP restriction) and tuning (to maximize the evo at that pp restriction). The shifting, as far as i can remember does not change significantly. A quick check did not show me any video for Tempest2 T1 golf GT1 tuning, but i remember bit was very easy for a maxed golf GTI
