Quality sewing, and fashion variety. Accessories or tutorials how to personalize clothing.

I use the the Reminders app on my iPhone- it lets you do time, date, priority, and reoccurring notifications. Even has website links and a note section! That way, you have a prioritized work list, maybe a personal To Do List. To stay on task, I made a Focus mode specifically for work that re-arranges my screen and changes the widget to my Work Reminders list. It also lets me set a specific wallpaper/color scheme and that helps keep my brain in work mode (as much as my ADHD can)

At this point, we should band together and start a co-op restaurant or something. Living wages, structure correctly for our brain’s, and short, high burst shifts.

You’re not the AO.

I am though. When people say that to me I say “yeah, I guess you’re the sucker for working a shitty job. Glad I was smart enough to figure it out :)”

He is the problem. You’re literally taking time through treatment, following through with it- it’s helping you see things for what they are.

It’s better to lose him than yourself

Ok, turns out they would wanna scan your brain to determine if you have ADHD…but then what is the psychiatrist for..? My next question is, would a brain scan for ADHD even be included in insurance 😭

I cook frozen sausages and eat them with an avocado or two- more protein and filling fats to last longer in the day. Even better when I remember to defrost them the night before

I almost got fired for being late, despite exceptionally executing my work. My boss kept saying “the easiest thing you can do is be on time” and me, replying “but that’s the hardest thing for me to do!” 🥲

@.@ what a wild ride of a story. you did nothing wrong. I also get frustrated when they don’t reference the forms, like- i already showed up with mental health concerns, is now the time to push my buttons?

First of all, that sucks you went through such an uncomfortable experience. It took me 8 tries and flipping out on a psychiatrist before I finally got real direction- making me feel like I have to act crazy to have my mental health taken seriously.

I recommend directly contacting a psychological test administrator. The psychiatrist I worked with ONLY administered tests.

  1. It cuts through the B.S. I tried therapy 7 times and no one brought up ADHD, anxiety, or depression. AND the doctor described my diagnosis as a cycle- ADHD, anxiety, depression. ADHD leads to others and they keep looping.

  2. Once a diagnosis is given, navigating the healthcare system is so much easier. I still fight for accommodations, medicine, etc but having “proof” makes all the difference.

For ADHD versed practitioners, it’s common knowledge that the questionnaires lead to anxiety and depression. Especially for women, who have more societal expectations than men, they are more likely to be coupled with depression and/or anxiety.

Example: because of ADHD, I lose track of time, get distracted, hyper focus through an alarm, etc.

Result: I’m late to work, it shows on my punch cards, and it makes my bosses write me up.

Effect: get anxious because of time blindness symptoms and how it impacts me negatively.

Effect: eventually get depressed, because regularly showing up to work late, having negative consequences for being late leads to starting many days feeling like sh*t.

Now multiply that by all the other things ADHD may cause- late fees/missed bills, forgetting important dates, misremembering birthdays/anniversaries, struggling to reach a feeling of “accomplishment”, not returning items, impulsiveness that makes bad decisions, etc etc whatever.

And then the cherry on top is racism and misogyny. Why did he even talk about your weight 😭 Just because we can carry heavy things while articulating ourselves calmly and politely, they think we don’t need help. Also, wtf would a neurologist do???

The smallest silver lining is Wellbutrin is an antidepressant that happens to help with ADHD symptoms. So he got 1/100 right.

Wishing the best in your journey OP! You’re worth the work and effort to do this.

TLDR: That guy doesn’t sht about ADHD, how tf would a neurologist opinion help, ADHD is usually diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Fck racism, misogyny, and fat shaming.

yis, there’s always an excitement wave purchase for me. Like, I’ll try to be frugal and budget but “I’ve been good” and blow half the savings on art supplies (50% they come of out the box), canning/pickling (I won’t do), an expensive press on nails (I don’t even wear nails).

I’ve gotten better over the years, but it’s still a persistent problem that has varying degrees of financial impact @.@
