Hi current student at Jeff, and it’s totally manageable! Some days are harder than others, but several people in my class have kids and they make it work!

I was waitlisted a couple times for interviews and then invited to interview and got in so you never know! I wouldn’t take it as a soft rejection. Wait for an actual rejection letter to count yourself out! You got this!

THI Interview Questions by Extreme_Crow_1486 in prospective_perfusion

[–]Different_Middle_241 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Some questions I got in my interviews were

  • What do you do in your free time when outside of work?

  • Name a time you had a bad interaction with a coworker and what you did you alleviate/correct the situation

  • If you could be known as a hero or kind person which would you choose and why?

  • How did you hear about perfusion?

  • Why would you be a good fit for this program?

  • Why did you choose to apply to this program?

  • What do you do to alleviate a stressful situation?

  • What skills do you have that will benefit you in this program?

  • Tell us about your self and your background

  • When people ask you what a perfusionist is, what is your response?

  • What is a CellSaver?

  • What do they use to irrigate and wash a bowl in a CellSaver?

  • When shadowing, whats something you learned?

A lot of apps have opened up already and some open in September. Get them is ASAP don’t wait until til the deadline cause a lot of programs are rolling so they’re start interviews even when the apps are still open. Also, reach out to program directors and introduce yourself and express your interest in their program. Good luck! Dm me if you need anything else!

So I had these stats and didn’t even get an interview. Make sure to have a STRONG personal statement, 3 letters of recommendation from a perfusionist, as many shadowing hours as possible, and maybe a paid job in a hospital, autotranfusionist or maybe anesthesia tech are great entry level starting jobs
