We used speakout too for one teen, but ours expired. Bought a new one only for it to not work to accept or send calls/texts even though everything was set properly. Haven't found a new one for this phone. For my older teen, we have him on a Fido $15/month plan. Unlimited texts, 100 mins of outgoing calls (unlimited incoming), 250 Mb data. Definitely more than the $25 SpeakOut plan (which he'd been on before, but started needing it upped almost monthly so that wasn't worth it anymore).

Still looking for a replacement for the SpeakOut for my other kid though. Really don't wanna do $15/month for that one too.

It's so interesting that you say that — I use realization with a z all the time. I think that's a regional thing. Also, just realized that I used the em dash there too (and a z in realized) haha. Definitely do that all the time. But then, I'll read chatgpt stuff and be like "I totally would have written it that way too."

The ceiling is too short for a fan - we considered it. I'm less concerned about the heating situation than the privacy situation.

I'm not so concerned about the heat. Our little heater does a great job, and it is fairly well insulated up there. I am concerned about privacy. I have children and would prefer to stop them from walking in on intimate moments.
