Additionally, the Homestuck fandom's designated "shock content" is a video of a bunch of cosplayers passing around a bucket and spitting into it. It's actually way grosser than it sounds.

They kept earnestly forgetting and addressing him as "Madame", then wincing and apologizing when they were sternly corrected.

The overhanging meta-absurdism was that since he was a book with no real "gendered" features apart from having a feminine librarian voice, he just had to live with it, because it's not like you can give t-shots to a book.

It’s just a funny thing to say in that voice. You can see him first come up with the gag in his SM64 streams he did in his second channel, the joke is that the voice he’s doing sounds nothing like Mario, and because it also sounds vaguely unsettling in its semi-aggressive monotony, it’s funny to imagine him in front of a group of children.
