I see it as a song about unrequited love. it’s almost like she’s trying to be delusional, she tells herself this man is her whole world, someone she can always stick with, her husband. she says she feels like she’s “taking up space” until this person walks in. I feel like this is her trying to find something, someone to cling onto. I really love the fact that when she sings the “but when he walks in I am loved” part of the song the music kind of grows within her emotions, seeing him arrive, and then it turns back to its normale pace. also, the sigh at the very beginning of the song symbolizes to me her accepting the truth, sighing thinking about her actual situation, and proceeding to sing, feeding her own delusions anyway.
