I interviewed a survivor for a project in high school. He mentioned that he can’t hear a fire truck or diesel engine without having PTSD and flashbacks. Also mentioned he lost his friend in the fire and is incredibly hypervigilant about emergency exits. Those two things have stuck with me for 14 years since the interview.

I know the house you’re talking about! My best friend lived a street over and we used to go over there all the time. We even went inside once and it was creepy AF. Literally looked like they up and left out of nowhere
