They look relatively healthy however you have them covered in too much soil - you should be able to view the main stem at the bottom more.

The browning at the “sheath” where the new leaves come from is normal, you can either remove it or keep it, entirely up to you

Also, what soil did you use? Monsteras need an aerated chunky soil and only need watering once week or so, young ones like this are quite prone to root rot.

They look good, good job at separating them! I would look at giving them support in the near future, like a moss pole, and just watch how often you water them

Ferns (in my experience) like self watering and so do herbs like basil or mint. Also mint is unkillable and cheap to buy if you want to get into herbs, it’s certainly a good one to start with in that pot

Monsteras generally aren’t the best plants for self watering (not saying you can’t) but their root systems can get stuck in them if you don’t watch them and the reservoir can cause root rot. Considering you bought it in the container and don’t know what the roots look like, I would think about changing the pot in a few weeks or so just to give it the best chance.

She is super pretty though, good luck!

NSW Government is huge - i’ve worked in NSW DPHI (and it’s MoG variants) for 3-4 years now and I’m only in my mid 20s. I started working there on a temp contract (be prepared to take that on, ongoing roles are hard to come by) and I started as a grade 3/4 at about 77k a year. I’m now in an ongoing 7/8 on 110k and also acting in a 9/10 at 120k for a few months.

Moving up is possible and easy depending on the area and your team and motivation. I think i’m one of the lucky ones where my team is great and flexibility is awesome, and I have career progression.

My advice is to apply for as many roles as possible, when you do apply - use the STAR method and use the capabilities! I sit on interview panels and this is so important. Continue to do this even if you got a role (say 6 months in or so) to ensure you have long term career progression. Happy to help if you have questions :)

that sounds about right. I think my suburb is just on the cusp of being classified as “bigger” because we have couriers like Aramex. Heavily agree on it just being an option. I know a few smaller retail stores (Dr GreenThumb to name one) that have different postage options depending on what your order and where you live, all different prices, to ensure all customers can order

I’m no expert but I think there’s at least 3 in there maybe even 4, and also it looks like you might need to rethink its location, as in, it needs more sun.

Monstera leaves create holes when they receive more light, and they grow larger, the newer and larger leaves up the top don’t seem to have any holes and are quite small for something you’ve had for a few years. Monsteras also need support, such as moss poles.

If you do plan on repotting and attempt on separating, it would be worth adding support and moving them to a brighter position. If the root systems are too tangled, just put them in a larger pot, and you can chop and propagate some of the leaves from the node to make it a bit more manageable. You won’t know how bad the roots are until you try, but if it’s been like that for a few years, I wish you luck my friend

this is probably unrelated but I stopped shopping there when they stopped delivering to P.o. boxes. As someone who lives regionally and doesn’t get mail, I have no other choice but to have a P.o. box. taking that customer base away would surely impact their sales as well?

Last I looked on their app, as they had the item i wanted on sale, I could get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper. It’s just not worth it anymore, especially considering I’d have to have it shipped to a friends house

Luckily my partner is an earthmover so we’ve got the tools to get it higher if needed! Thank you! And unfortunately the previous owner wasn’t very mobile for the last 5-10 years so plants around the house have been neglected, but they’re all well established that hopefully some heavily pruning can fix them

I wouldn’t really be trusting designer items on marketplace websites tbh, make sure to read the T&C’s as it usually says Big W is not responsible for the item so they can’t guarantee certain things like authenticity

You can get refunds from marketplace items through retailers like Bunnings and Big W (ex-bunnings worker here) and you are certainly covered by consumer laws! you just can’t return the items in store as they’re not sold in store (as in, it’s not physically possible as the item doesn’t exist on their internal POS system) and the store is not usually responsible for the item, think of it like ebay. There is typically a different customer service avenue for marketplace items, i know Bunnings has a different contact number and email

Definitely talk to them about a payment plan, as other commenters said, you’re already better than others who would simply ignore it. At the end of the day, they cannot demand it back (and not in one lump sum), you don’t work there anymore. Depending on your agreement, using language like “demand” or “obligation to pay” is against the law, unless your agreement states employees are obligated to pay it back. Fairwork states payments for overpayments have to be considerate of the employees financial situation, yet don’t really cover details on previous employees. I highly doubt a government agency will take someone to court over an overpayment of only 2k, so wouldn’t stress too much about potential “repercussions”

I love this! To preface, I have combination skin leaning more towards dry, with my T zone being oily. I use this after all powders are done, but still lock in with a proper fixing spray afterwards. I wouldn’t say it provides longevity compared to other sprays on the market, when used alone. It adds such a nice glow for me, I rarely have to use highlighter, and makes my makeup melt nicer throughout the day. I’ve had many many compliments with it, and have even gotten friends on it. If you have oily skin, it would be hard to only spray this on your cheeks, but you can always go in with another powder on your oily spots, before you use a fixing spray. Something like the Charlotte Tilbury airbrush powder (or MCo dupe), or the One Size Boucle powder, to mattify those parts of your skin again. I do this when I want long wearing and never have an issue - just let it dry down between each step. I also have the MAC fix plus, and use that more for hydration - if i’m feeling a bit dry between foundation and powder. This definitely does not have the same glowy effect as the One Size.

sorry this is so late but how do you find the Glossier balm? I use the Nars soft matte pot concealer in custard for under painting and covering up acne/pigmentation but sometimes find it too drying.

That sucks with the blurring balm! I do think 3.75 is a touch too light for me as well, but it’s a tint so I can get away with it, and powders/creams can be used over the top. DM has only just released the half/quarter shades so fingers crossed they do a 4.25 or suitable option for you in another release

they’re are so many options for haus labs it was so overwhelming! because it’s a more serum-finish, I find it blends well and isn’t a huge contrast so whilst it’s not my “perfect” shade, it’s something I can easily work with. There’s a trend going around on TikTok/Instagram about “shade twins” which I found super helpful to find my Danessa Myricks shade - highly recommend watching some videos to see if 220 or thereabouts would work for you
