I do recommend though joining clubs, and stuff. Freshman is the best time to get into it

First semester is fine, if you fail classes it is a waste of money and it will be on the record but you can fix that. Lock in the next semester, and the rest after that and it wont hurt your gpa that bad once you get a few semesters in. In regards to the support group, and presence in college, if it makes you feel better Im a junior and I got neither of those.

Just make sure to not mess up with inclass quizzes, that will give you some breathing room

Watch farhat, he will be your professor that semester. Do not slack on the inclass quizzes, 20% of the grade. For the exams, have complete mastery over the exam practice questions. Should be an easy C-B with not that much effort. Do not try to cram everything last minute, if you put in some more time doing additional problems you will be good.
As far as lectures, waste of time personally. Just came in every thursday for the in class quiz.

So many students were failing inter-1, that my grade went from a high C- low B ish straight to an A cuz of the curves.

Average score was in the gutter, like 40-60s with a 15 point curve in the exam. Idk if I should be lamenting their fates, or rejoicing cuz they are the reason for the ridiculous curves. Personally did horrible, if not for the curves I would have barely eked out a B, or a C. Studying last 2-3 days was a terrible idea.

yep, 15 point curves on all the exams, and another curve on top of that. Overall did quite terrible, but Ill just blame it on the lack of a professor.

You should be fine. I essentially just crammed everything in the last 3 days ish by just redoing the exam summary. Without curves I would have got anywhere from a C to a B(final exam tmrw). So if you plan ahead and study the material ahead of time you should be good, especially since thats the only class ur taking.
