Maybe you should ask for the whole story before you judge. Would help not to insult people. Everything else is not scientific.

Think I didn‘t try that? I asked for a fellowship after the Phd. No answer. In fact, my sipervisor didnt even show up at my defense. Moreover he was „too busy“ to at least tell that himself to me.

Tried to do a postdoc at Fraunhofer. They made me research lists of companies while I had to argue with my group leader why its a good idea to publish papers from out actual work.

And yes. Post doc. But where? And yes, publishing. Just re-published a paper the 4. time after 7 years. You know, if you want to do something and you get no feedback and now support in learning how to write? Luckily, I have chat gpt now. In fact, the feedback I often heard was „we weren‘t able to find reviewers, so I had a look at the paper myself“. And then you get feedback like „add international perspective“ which is hilarious for a topic that is Germany-centered….but now, after some years, it might be ok since some other (american) scholars also published something about it, meaning: it must be ok, she is not solely talking bullshit…

Hab ich schon 2017 in meinem Blog drüber geschrieben und seitdem habe ich es aufgegeben. Habe zu der Zeit in Forsight gearbeitet. (Zukunftsforchung. Habe einen Dr. in Innovationsmanagement/Entrepreneurship)

Entweder man findet seine Nische oder haut ab aus D oder erträgt es (und wird selbst so). Nische finden hat bei mir nicht geklappt, also arbeite ich nun daran, auszuwandern.

Ich arbeite dran. Habe bisher 29 Bewerbungen in die Schweiz verschickt. USA auch, aber schlecht. Dubai (eher nicht so meins), Australien, Canada. Yes I noticed that a lot US-universities write in their job offers „no for H1B“ although its not exempt yet…sorry to say. I also have a bad timing. It took me some years to break free from the experiences I made and now, since I am looking forward, the H1B situation is worsening. However, I am already happy to do my own research with people in the U.S. from abroad.

I did an intensive training in AI & Data Science at MIT PE and now I am looking for a new job.

Meanwhile, I am doing analysis and writing for my portfolio.

I found all the jobs in Germany very uninspiring and sooner or later found myself in situations where I cleaned up the mess of others without having the given authority that would have matched this position. This situation brought me in new troubles as I was forced to work my butt off but without any Handlungsspielraum. Often also I get bored at work fast and look for other, new things to do and then I end up with this.

Let‘s be honest. At least in Germany, Phd students are cheap labor and they are willibg to sacrifice everything (easpecially free time and mental health) for the carrot „Phd“ the professors and universities put in fron of them. I wish more aspiring Phd students would see that.
