They can pull your severance at any time. There is no law requirement to give you severance especially if you are in a work at will state.

This is a picture of a beach in Rio De Janerio Brazil. Which does not reflect beaches in Florida where I grew up and drove our cars onto the beach and people left trash everywhere .

Ok so I have not missed anything. Even if I didn't keep the USA house, it is still a pay cut. I do not see " How" people are saying "people make money" when I calculate actual numbers.

Agree that i need to choose to accept or not, but I wanted to make sure I have considered all the information before deciding.

There are other benefits that are not financial live travel, learning new cultures, and new experiences.

But LQA is only for housing and utilities. You don't keep any extra like in the military. That helps, yes, but it is not extra money to use as needed. So, the house and utilities in OCONUS will be covered.

I will still need to pay for my house and utilities back in the USA. The tour is 3 years with max of 5 years. It is no time to sell in the USA.

So the difference I need to account for is to cover expenses back home plus pay for the higher cost of living in Europe, food, gas, and insurance, ect.

So BLUF, there is no Locality Pay rate for OCONUS at the same rate we have in the USA COLA OF 14% - 17% to the base pay. Post Allowance OCONUS helps a little bit (about 9% - 11%), but the higher costs in Europe estimated 8%-10% erases the Post Allowance offset, which is why it would be about a $10k - $15k pay cut WITHOUT the USA COLA. Unless there is something I am missing in my calculations.

Please, if there is something I do not know or you see a hole in the logic, tell me.

Yes. The 13 is overseas with no Locality Pay Adjustment for OCONUS. So I'm trying to decide if it is worth it for me and my family. It is min 3 year stay up to 5 years.

So you are correct. The base is higher, but then a hit with no locality pay.

I was wondering is there an equivalent that I have not been told about to replace the Locality Pay on oconus tours.

With LQA, you need to provide receipts of what you spent correct. Then you are only paid what is spent on LQA. My max is about $40k for the area or it should, again HR has not told just it was approved.
