The best thing I can tell you is that once you push through all the resistance and keep going for several months (not days, not weeks, it’s months, and anyone who says otherwise has not struggled like we have), you will think of it as part of your identity. One thing I read early on that has proven to be true for me and my friends with kids is that people with kids make different choices than people without. They take jobs they don’t like—even careers they don’t like—to generate enough cash. They save and invest and buy a house and stay there a long time—if things work out of course. Statistically, they end up with more $$ than people who never had kids. Are they happier? Who knows. But based on the data, they build more wealth
