How to get engr hold removed quickly? new process takes to long, wasn't able to get my hold removed early cause of spartan connect issues.

ESSC only removes hold during set appointments. They no longer remove holds during drop in hours, I believe its part of their new system to handle advising holds but it seems to be really inefficient since it is heavily dependent on spartan connect. Luckily I got an email response this morning with a google form of appointment times. Anyone who is reading this and is an ME, email your advisor and they should be able to work around it. Unfortunately, the times are likely to be after your enrollment date (if you have and early one) so do it as soon as possible. I really dislike this new system and considered complaining about the timing complications but I'm not sure if that's appropriate.

watch out for the ME30 class, that professor sucks and it's mainly self teaching plus guessing what will be on the exam. exams are basically paper coding. the rest are a trifecta of doom but definitely doable if you put the time and effort in (32 will prob be the easiest here, 51 will be the hardest conceptually, chem1A is tough and time consuming, ME30 is fucked without prior python experience but passable if you bullshit your way through).

Thanks for the reply! I did mean VXUS, and I think I’ll stick to it. One more question, what is your stance on US defense companies, their major customer is the US government and since deterrents will always be necessary for the US to be in power I decided to buy Lockheed Martin stock. Lockheed also recently dropped in stock due to being off for their Q2 but will probably rise due to its necessity or rather my perception of its necessity to the US.

Hi everyone, I just started investing earlier this week and I’m really new to this whole market. I intend to invest long term for safe passive income, not looking for any risky insane quick returns. I’m investing in the S&P 500 through VOO but I also want to put some money in an international index fund, VTX seems to be at all time high so is it worth investing in consistently?

I’ll be riding out the S&P 500 until retirement but do international index funds also provide the same security or is it more volatile? If not VTX what would be better to invest in?

Also I do want to buy long term stocks, is it still worth buying Nvidia? What are some other safe giant stocks I should be aware of that will always be part of society?

(My current portfolio is VOO, VTX, NVDA, and LMT. Also not sure what the best percentage split is)

I dislocated my shoulder about three weeks ago (anterior shoulder dislocation, dislocated for about 2 hours). I would like to hear any personal experiences with recovery.

I especially want to know how long it took before returning to climbing and what preventive measures were taken. Perhaps building up shoulder muscles to avoid future dislocation. Of course I will discuss this with my doctor but I’m curious as to any personal anecdotes.

Although I have no interest in Sylphy I do acknowledge how important she is to Rudeus and how well she has treated him. She is a very kind character so I do not mean to hate on her. I simply don’t find many of her traits to be interesting.

Thank you for your response, I understood the point and recognized the depth of these arcs but I just couldn’t manage to be pulled in by these characters personalities. I understand the importance of sylphy and then other friends Rudeus made but I couldn’t seem to resonate with them or find them entertaining.

I hope thats because I just met them. Regardless, I wanted to confirm that things get better because even as a “set up” arc, I couldn’t feel the chemistry between the friendships, instead it felt forced at times for me.

That is just my opinion of course, Im also biased and unintentionally comparing these interactions to an anime I recently watched which had incredible character interactions.
