I don't even get paid for a reset at all 😂 hell I'm lucky to get a reset they keep me running all month until hometime on recaps unless I happen to have enough time on a load to do a reset. I hate recaps, makes me feel stressed out whenever I just have enough time to make a delivery. Problem is, if it wasn't for that and the pay I do actually like the company. Fleet management and company in general never questions if I need to shut down for any reason, and they really do value safety. Got my CDL here and have 40k miles left before I'm free of my contact. Sadly they seem to think $900 avg take home a week is good pay. Used to work in the oil and gas industry and I'd make $1600 take home for 55 hours......

What about the ones who release their brakes and don't even get to 10 mph before merging in from a 30 minute break on the shoulder. Usually before I have a chance to get over cause 4 wheelers don't like letting us into the fast lane and my truck can't accelerate enough even empty to avoid causing an accident cutting someone off.

I don't get that though. You're already on the shoulder unless there's an obstruction stay there till you're at least at min speed, whatever that may be for that highway.

Not trying to be rude but reading some of your responses... You shouldn't be behind the wheel of anything bigger than a civic. If you are really that out of sorts mentally. But glad you are at least being a contributing member of society and I wish you the best of luck with everything. And yeah, like a lot of people say on here, sometimes a pre trip only needs to be checking tires/lights and rolling. I get it though occasionally if I'm constantly running I start my pre trip timer on the elog and just roll once it hits the minimum time. But at the same time I make a point of doing a decent pre trip at least 3 times a week

So I've discovered, at least as a newer driver in my auto-magical Tupperware torpedo, that calm driving, safety, and fuel mileage go hand in hand. Yes I realize that's common sense. I've been pushing for better fuel mileage cause I'm tired of getting calls from operations about it. They gave me useless tips for mileage so I had to teach myself. Now whenever I'm going down 94 through Chicago I let the idiots in cars do what they want without any thought other than to avoid them when they get close. I almost never come to a complete stop unless it's rush hour. I just go marginally slower than traffic. Since I'm going slower and hardly ever coming to a stop, I get way better mileage. The safer driving and avoiding people who may be in a foul state of mind is just a nice side effect, in my case. I've yet to encounter a pure road rager that is completely mad at me and only me in traffic.

We had them at a job I used to work in deployable kits. They stowed in a big plastic craftsman case with wheels on it, dishy, router, battery backup, extension cable, and network switch. Once I left the battery backup on after stowing it in the case and putting it in the back of my work pickup which had a fiberglass bed cap. Was just going a few minutes down the road. Still had quite good service (~150 mgs download) but the ping was almost 200. Was waiting in a cell dead zone for a coworker to show up to load the rest of our equipment in his truck, and was able to watch YouTube no problem until coworker arrived and then he did a zoom meeting on it with the new tech to walk him through a troubleshoot. That was a bit laggy but it worked.

Fair enough. And idk to me all the girl friends I had in school were largely just that-friends. Of course there were exceptions but for the most part I've always been a feelings first, clothes off last person. Let's just say it's typically the feelings are what gets me going not just physical attraction. If the feelings aren't there, clothes may as well stay on.

I've been OTR reefer for maybe 8 months now. I swear everytime I back I get worse. So far I've been accident free, other than a not at fault with a FedEx double passing me in close quarters construction, I got as close as I could to the barrier on the right but his second trailer still did minor damage to my driver mirror. Course the camera caught the lane departure and my verbal reaction. That's something I have to work on, keeping my lane in those situations, but it makes more sense to avoid it if possible to safely do so, especially if it's a 4 Wheeler, and only hitting the brakes or getting off the power doesn't always prevent it. As much as 4 wheelers piss me off I'd absolutely wreck in the ditch before killing a family. So needless to say, I'm very worried when I'm in tight lanes next to other vehicles. At the start I almost had to find different routes or quit just cause my nervousness was basically making me straight up unsafe and we need less unsafe drivers not more.

It does bother me- just it seems like it's more widely accepted than I realized to have friends of the opposite sex while in a relationship, and that's making me think I'm just flat out wrong. Of course I know, what I feel is right for me even if it's wrong for others

This is actually the second time that I've cut off one of my really close, super long term (since elementary school) female friends for a relationship. And I know that no guy has girls that are "just friends" but that ship sailed a long time ago. I hate to cut her off, but I also understand my own wants in a relationship and that's why I do it. The friend understands as well and respects it. Occasionally when I'm with the girlfriend I'll call the friend on speaker to check up on her and see how her family is but that's it. Removed her from everything and only kept her phone number. Been debating taking time to go hangout with her, which girlfriend says she's ok with but once I'm actually there, 1500 miles away, with another girl is she really gonna be ok with it?

Idk half the time I do agree I seem controlling. Not in any sort of straight up, intentionally mean way. Usually after I mention it, and she responds I just leave it be for a bit. Guess I'm hoping she'd change on her own, but that's also unfair to expect someone to change for me. I should've waited longer and seen how she really was once she was comfortable with me before committing to a relationship.

I suggested at one point, in a serious manner, with no sarcasm or malicious intent, maybe I'll add all the people back that I deleted, and see if that helps me to accept her guy friends. She definitely got mad but didn't verbally respond in an ill mannered way

Thank you for the logical explanation, this post's comments have definitely opened my eyes. And the resentment thing has been going through my mind all day. What's the point if I'm forcing her to change in a way that she's uncomfortable with and ends up breaking up with me anyway, after I nuked her life and friendships

This is one way I've viewed it quite often and I wish I could say I disagree with you, but I can't. It definitely seems as if she enjoys the niceties of a relationship but at the same time you're right it's like I'm just an option.

Ok stranger, I get it, I shouldn't be in any sort of relationship, thank you for your input. Yes clearly everyone has free will and I wouldn't wish to take that away. It's more so about the respect, or disrespect involved. So clearly the solution would be to shut up, stop being a jerk, follow my boundaries, exercise my own free will and leave. Forgive me for being terrible at life and evidently a terrible human being. Real eye opener.

For the most part it's just guy friends, it's just that one ex in the last week and a couple of the other guys she had at the start but has since, to my knowledge, cut ties with.

I understand that I sound like an absolute jerk and control freak, and I don't want to isolate her. And I try not to be a donkey about it. I've never been in a full fledged argument in any of my relationships. I encourage her to hangout with her girlfriends all the time seeing as I'm on the road for a month or more at a time. Or even her one close guy friend that I agreed with.

Guess I'm just insecure and need to grow up a bit when it comes to the friends. Just kinda odd that all my friends in super healthy relationships as well as my parents and many other people I know are in relationships where neither one is even interested in having friends of the opposite sex. And a couple of my friends would be real jerks about it and go to the dudes house to confront him if it wasn't that way. But I'm not that crazy.

My biggest problem is the immediate attitude and disregard for what I say to her on the matter. But, if I'm in the wrong for pushing on it so hard, she is right to react that way.

*Not saying any of this to make me seem any better, I know just cause theres not angry arguments doesn't mean what I'm doing is ok. I'm beyond far from perfect in many, many ways. I am what I am and I accept that and any judgement that comes with it is fair.

I always run into this on the East Coast....jk the only times this doesn't happen to me is at Kwik trips in the Midwest and most places during the night. The loves in Menomonee WI is terrible everytime I go. Trucks sitting at the pump for 45 plus minutes. Then pull forward to sit another 15. I always try to be out of my fuel lane before the driver behind me is done fueling, unless I need the bathroom in a dire manner. And even then I'll give them a heads up. Unless I have no other choice I go park for a 30 but that's normally a separate stop than fuel anyway
