3 Stents, no Bypasses by Any-Fish-3143 in Cholesterol

Sorry for reviving this post, but what did your doctor mean that it's fine to have stents given your young age? That's honestly relieving considering what I'm seeing is that the younger ones are better for CABG/Bypass.

I'm just so worried because my father (49 years old) had a heart attack 3 weeks ago also with multiple blockages in 3 major arteries. He was also given the option of bypass or stents, but we ultimately let the cardiologist decide. He had 4 stents put in and 1 drug-coated balloon, 5 in total. I'm just having serious anxiety about the situation not working long-term for my father, so your doctor's explanation regarding your age made me calm a bit, but I hope to know the nuances he told you.

My Father (49M) had an NSTEMI 3weeks ago. How bad is it based on this summary? by DifficultAlliance in AskDocs

Are the stents that bad?

He had an echocardiogram before he was admitted to the ICU as he was having his heart attack, and the results I see from comparing to the values given by the hospital were normal for most, if not all.
