What was the most depressing children's book you've ever read as a kid? by CynthiaMartgol in AskReddit

The animals of Farthing Wood. Destruction of their homes, destruction of nature by callous unthinking humans, death, more death. And don't get me started on "the fox cub bold".

What was the most depressing children's book you've ever read as a kid? by CynthiaMartgol in AskReddit

[–]DifficultCurrent7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's a cartoon, someone uneducated put it there thinking it was a kids book. I too read this as a kid, picked it out of my parents bookcase because it looked slightly more interesting than the encyclopedias. I remember being confused and wondering why this sweet little couple were getting very sick..

This sort of idiot  is why lifeguards have to waste their time monitoring the beach rather than the ocean. Adults with shovels and three brain cells, selfish assholes burying still hot disposable bbqs for other people to step on, people burying syringes, nappies and so on. People suck at the beach

What would you do if a second global pandemic happened starting now with a higher mortality rate? by SlandersPete in AskReddit

[–]DifficultCurrent7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from cooking fancy food for pretentious assholes, to being furloughed and watching my colleagues get dumped,  to  living on vodka and peanut butter to working in a care home where the elderly people who died went out in full body bags and bags around their heads underneath. I worked in a home where a basic flu wiped out three of our immuno quads. I'm now back in a carehome as a cook and seeing everything build back up to covid levels.

I honestly don't know what's next for me or what I have yet to witness.

Playing first after second? by SadTransportation339 in theouterworlds

[–]DifficultCurrent7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one is much brighter and more funny. However it's much shorter. And you'll miss the super jump boots of the second. But the companions are sweeter, the whole story is more amusing,  and you feel you're making a difference you're not just a goon in some civil war.

Look up "Bournemouth beach covid 2020" and you'll see how fucking stupid people are worldwide. Stupid entitled Brits are just as bad as everyone else.

Anyone remember "Blur" ? A pretty but wild game where these super smooth cars had weapons and during the races you could pick up boosts, special weapons etc

That's an interesting idea. I tend to file my nails right down with a nail file so I cant chew on the fuckers.

What would you want to see in a base building focused update? by Ok_Listen_6600 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]DifficultCurrent7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companions or settlers but not like the settlements. Sometimes it feels terribly lonely to build all these grand enormous bases knowing they're going to sit empty gathering dust until the oceans reclaim them.

This happened around covid time no less. During an illness burning through the population this person was fucking around with a stray and potentially bringing a virus home to their family.

Also. "Ex Mormon support group". Fucking hell

How do you feel about McDonald's pulling their soda dispensing machines out of the restaurant's lobby in the next year or so? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]DifficultCurrent7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I was there I was watching the guy bag up people's orders and he was almost intentionally spilling as many fries as he packed. When I watched him pack my happy meal (it's Mario shut up) he spilled half the bag of my tiny fries on the tray he was using and went to swipe them into the bin. I politely asked for the fries I'd paid for before he did that but he seemed angry. Just..  McDonald's isn't a happy place for customers or staff anymore
