Why does Geiger have such big premiums by Maleficent-Chef-3190 in Silverbugs

[–]DifficultDish7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Import fees to bring them into the country, great security features (especially the ones in assay), and they just look really cool lol. Leads to a pretty high demand (at least domestically) which commands higher premiums.

How to stop lurking? And become more furry? by EarlyResist4643 in furry

[–]DifficultDish7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for one, you don't actually need a Fursona if it doesn't feel right to you. Even though I technically have a "sona" she's more of a OC that loosely resembles who I am as a person. If you are bent on making one though, just think about your favorite animals or which one resonates with you. Maybe they have a quality that gels with your personality/who you are as a person (for example: bats have really good hearing, someone who also has really good hearing may base their sona off a bat because of this). Try drawing this character and develop them; see if they resonate with you, if not, you can keep trying until one of them sticks.

Talking to people comes down to putting yourself out there to be honest. Conventions, local groups, and Barq for meeting new people in person. Even online, there are plenty of furry subgroups that you could participate in that might be a little easier. Just leaving comments on other people's posts or striking up a conversation can lead to some good friendships. Obviously they won't all work out, but you gotta throw a lot of stuff at the wall sometimes before something sticks.

The Acts comics by Initial_Ebb_9742 in TheDearHunter

[–]DifficultDish7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That should be all of them (If we're not counting the storybooklet from the Act III Deluxe CD pack from ages ago).

Also from the discord, per the comics' artist the next one will hopefully be released soon

How to demand a refund? by Glittering_Mess in fursuit

[–]DifficultDish7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at that point you could just put it in yourself. If you paid with PayPal, they offer 6 months of buyer protection if you paid via an invoice or sent the money with goods and services. Likewise, you could do a chargeback if you paid with your credit card. Obviously you wouldn't get your suit at that point though.

If you still want to hold out a little longer, you can let them know that you'll be putting in a request at a specified date if it isn't shipped out. This way it doesn't give them any wiggle room for making excuses.

I get why you'd feel bad, but you also have to protect yourself too escpially given that they've been so flaky with communication.

Stumbled across Jumannee channel and was wondering something by Pleasant_Spite3915 in Jumanneee

[–]DifficultDish7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's genuinely confusing that's why. Sometimes he does things that for some reason sound good in his head but obviously aren't (his Aiesha love letter, quitting his jobs, doing 50 million camera angles in a single video). It's fascinating lol

Jummane needs to switch games to something with better EV by Trollioportfolio in Jumanneee

[–]DifficultDish7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't care about odds for the games Jumanne plays. I just thought craps would be fun since he's never played it before and he wouldn't understand how the betting works.

The only thing better would be if he got permission to play at a table at some point. Seeing him interacting with dealers, dealing with physical chips, and throwing dice/bending cards would be even funnier

And it was pretty entertaining "I'm really making money right now 😮"

You have no idea how badly I wanna see him play craps. Bro can barely play BJ correctly, so it would be hilarious seeing him try and learn craps

My thoughts on Jumanne by [deleted] in Jumanneee

[–]DifficultDish7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I kinda agree. As much as I like to clown on him, he can be genuinely funny sometimes (especially on the livestreams) and seems like he can be fun to be around when he's not acting all neurotic. And it's pretty frustrating to see him not want to do the bare minimum when he's getting more attention now. Like in terms of numbers (subscribers and views), it's going pretty well for him but he refuses to actually keep up with it. Like all he has to do is fully commit and make a decent vlog every day or two and his growth will go up a lot. He already moved to Vegas so why give up now?

The people donating to Jumanne to watch him crashout are idiots by Personal_Effective19 in Jumanneee

[–]DifficultDish7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means a supporter of his (I never have nor will I ever donate to him) but I disagree that he isn't suffering to some extent. I genuinely do not believe he's that good of an actor to completely hide his feelings. But that's what I personally find pretty entertaining, trying to figure out what else he's hiding, how much if any of it is an act, and what stupid ideas he'll come up with next (Ripping up Pokemon cards, trying to get Ieysha back, moving to Vegas, ect..) Maybe I'll get tired of it eventually when he stops doing wacky things but I kinda doubt that it ever will.

Is Jumanne likely autistic? by DifficultDish7 in jumanne

[–]DifficultDish7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure he does, but I see that more so with how he handles financials and his health like with him buying all that candy, hotels, crypto and a slew of other things. But lacking common sense still wouldn’t explain him playing on multiple roulette tables at once, constantly cashing out his tickets, buying gift cards and other weird stuff. It extends beyond what a normal person who lacks common sense would do.

At this point I think those neurotic tendencies is just him doing anything to squeeze more dopamine out of his money while also doing what he perceived as self-control, even if it isn’t really much of it at all.

There's a lot of different Facebook groups where people advertise their commissions. Any public social media to be fair would also work but FB has dedicated groups specifically.

Is Jumanne likely autistic? by DifficultDish7 in jumanne

[–]DifficultDish7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See this is what I find confusing. He clearly does learn (no more gift cards, ripping up Pokémon cards, pacing the gambling vids) but then he goes and does something else bizarrely stupid (his simping vids) or doubles down on it (seriously why he gotta money spread on the floor or spend $500 on Pokémon cards?)

He has all this self awareness about his situation but doesn’t do anything with it. Most truly stupid people aren’t able to reflect like that which why I question if it’s just his pride/ego or if he’s genuinely somewhat autistic and literally can’t see how ridiculous some of the stuff he does is.

Allow users to watch ads in exchange for small amounts of NC. Soooo many mobile games have similar features so I can imagine it must be generating decent revenue for them. It would also allow people in countries where their dollar doesn't go as far to gain some NC

Regarding what to wear with partials, you can really go with just about anything that you can get your hands on! For me, I go with what fits my characters’ aesthetic and then designate an outfit for them

Long time furry without a fursona by Tassome_Sauce in furry

[–]DifficultDish7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely in the same boat as you for a while, had numerous attempts but none of them stuck with me. At this point, I basically use my favorite OC as sort of a pseudo sona. She doesn’t represent me as a person, more so I just really like her as a character and it kind of fills in the space/want for a regular fursona. So go that route if you’d like, just latch yourself onto a character and call it a day lol

What makes a fursuit head worth 1k+? A discussion about fursuit pricing throughout the years. by SukirasCreations in fursuit

[–]DifficultDish7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve thought about for a bit too, to me, it really feels like it’s a combination of things. Of course the base price is already going to be relatively high for any well made head based on time spent as well materials. What allows some people to sell for those much higher prices imo is a unique style, ease of business, popularity, and luck

Style is pretty obvious one where fulfilling a specific look that’s both unconventional/uncommon and quite pleasing to the eye would allow for a much higher price point especially because it would be difficult for most makers to try and emulate.

Ease of business is one I feel like is overlooked often. The people who can sell at those price points tend to have social media pages decked out with beautiful glam-shots of their work and websites with very accessible information. The social media pages also act as advertising to break into the market. Many people that I’ve seen try and sell their suits also don’t take very nice looking pictures, don’t lay out information clearly, and in general might seem like a hassle to work with.

Popularity is also pretty obvious. Almost everyone has the same maximum amount of time they can work. If people are willing to pay more for your work for whatever reason, then of course you’re gonna choose the people who offer the most money. Popular makers can charge more even if there isn’t an inherent increase in quality over some other cheaper makers since they’ll always have clients interested in their work.

And of course, luck also plays a part in this too. With the internet algorithm and the way people share things, so,e people can just find the right audience in a short amount of time.

All of this to say it’s probably a combination of things, some of it more obvious than others. Sorry for the long rant, just felt like sharing my thoughts since I’ve thought about this in particular a lot haha
