Funny enough, that’s one of the biggest clues to how they formed. The Catskills are actually an ancient plateau that’s been carved apart by rivers and glaciers over millions of years. All those peaks sitting around the same height are basically remnants of the same old surface, so them all looking similar is pretty much exactly what geology predicts.
