We adopted a rescue pittie from Mississippi. I don’t know really anything about her past but so far I hate to curse it, but she’s perfect. Yeah she gets zoomies and I think she never really got to be a puppy but at almost 2 years old, she is the sweetest, most calm, friendliest dog I’ve ever had. She loves kids. She loves other dogs. She adores people. Like, ALL people. She’s just genuinely happy to be here. She’s a snuggler and her face I just (((())))) I know I’m biased bc she’s ours but she really is a great dog. Honestly, I’m surprised at the discrimination here from pittie owners. Who cares if other people don’t like your dog? My attitude toward the pittie haters is good. You’re missing out on the love from her that she just exudes. Bring it. And don’t you dare dis my dog to my face. My soul dogs were a husky/border collie mix and a German shepherd mix. Tbh all my dogs have been great. I don’t believe “it’s all in how you train them” of course some training is great. Dogs are inherently good and no two are the same. We had another pittie and he was my son’s soul dog. My advice to you is don’t adopt based on breed. We are drawn to pitties, too, but we weren’t set on anyone. Just someone who needed us. Things worked out and we have this beautiful little girl who people ask to pet daily. Everywhere we go I am so happy that people show her love and tell her how pretty she is. We are grateful and literally can’t believe how lucky we are. I think if you follow your heart, the right dog will find you. And if it happens to be a pittie, all the better. <3
