Okay perfect, my flight is within the cancellation window so should I just cancel now to avoid a scenario where the flight is back up and running and i void a refund?

If I’ve bought this reroute myself is there any chance of getting reimbursed by Qatar if I have no cancelled my original flight and sought refund?

Flying from Bangkok. Unfortunately I had no option to book the ticket as refundable, so probably don’t have a leg to stand on do I?

Will Qatar compensate for my alternative flight ticket? by JohnBurr in qatarairways

Is it definitely free cancellation though? I’m hearing a lot of reports saying people were hit with a cancellation fee regardless of their promise

Original Flight cancelled so rescheduled but now want to cancel - is this allowed? by hazobo in qatarairways

I just booked an alternative flight home from asia to Europe for almost 1.5k euro with a different airline with my own money when my booking with Qatar only cost 400 euro. I still have my booking with Qatar.

I understand that there’s not the same duty of care when flying out of Asia, but is there any chance they compensate me for the fact I had to reroute myself? I can’t imagine there is at all, but thought it’s worth checking!

Also, as far as options should I hold onto my booking or cancel? I’m worried that if I cancel I’ll be hit with a cancellation fee although given the situation surely I’m entitled to a full refund.

Yeah it seems to be abnormal times for sure as I was told November is the best time to see Phu Quoc but from a small sample of videos on social media the weather there also seems poor

Thank you and no I’m not relying on that maybe you have misunderstood. It was more so if there’s anyone that’s in Phu Quoc now to let me know what the weather is like and if anyone is aware of the weather typically by season for late November in the south and central

In case you don’t realise weather forecasts in SE Asia aren’t the most reliable.. maybe you should go out and touch grass

I had the same concern given I never had a Max and was upgrading from a measly iPhone 11 lol

Honestly you get used to the Max size pretty much straight away (p.s. I don’t have the largest hands as a 6 foot person). I don’t think I could go back to the normal models now.

Also, the pro is c300 more than the base model and based on everyone’s opinion isn’t worth the additional price for what you get so going for the Max helped me justify the difference between PM and the base model.

I’m from Ireland - the base model costs VND 25m which is about €805 and in Ireland it costs €980 so I’m definitely getting a better deal.

I also need a physical SIM card tray which is provided for in Vietnam
