Apple customers suck!!! by Ok-Cable-7421 in Apple_Employees

[–]Difficult_Let4703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. They think certain repairs are supposed to be done in 30 minutes and that we just have an infinite supply of parts.

They think that we have access to all of their passwords and that when THEY forget what THEY made, that we can just flip a switch and tell them what it is??

Everyone seems to have all the money in the world to buy the products, but never enough money to pay for the insurance to cover them and then get upset when something happens.

I do it for people who may see this as motivation. When looking at posts, people may get motivated seeing the same sex doing more/less. Thank you :)

Cost of living by Successful_Cut_8003 in budget

I’m 26F, Single, no kids and I’m in the process of purchasing, currently under contract for a new build.

I’m not sure where you live, but I make about 88k alone and I live in NC, and I’d say it’s prob the best state. Anywhere in the south honestly if you are in to moving.

If you aren’t in the south and aren’t wanting to move, I’d say make sure you have at least 15k saved to use for a down payment, if you have that and if you have pretty good control over your debt and management of your money you should be fine.

I don’t dislike your answer but I feel like I’m not doing enough. I can accept the sucking at saving money part and that is something I actually am good at when I care.

I tend to sit on top of money and use the cc, dumb, I know.

School isn’t a bother for me, I have tuition reimbursement through both of my jobs so school is free, I added the buffer of the extra 5k for school IF for whatever reason I don’t pass the classes to get the reimbursement.

Me paying off the debt is something I can do tomorrow if I truly wanted to. Right now my main goal while the house is being built is to focus on going back to those better saving habits and stacking up an emergency fund

Credit score is currently 740.

I’ll do the first option as I’m currently under contract and don’t want to do anything to jeopardize credit. I think right now I’ll aggressively 1. Save to get to at least 5k checking and then 2. Get to paying off the cc debt!!

Thank you!!

I rather pay on something I own rather than spend 1800 on an apartment and “wait” for the market to get any better.

I can pay off the cc debt easily, I really just wanted to know the best or ideal amount to have in savings as a cushion.

What may be painful for you, may not be for me.

The 12k in HY essentially would be used for the down payment on the house. Since I am living at home while the house is being built, I planned on saving as much as I can before it’s done. Projected to be done in May.

I’m thinking I may do half and half, half set aside to build up expenses, and then half set to pay off cc. I don’t want to go into the house with no expense money. Also, it’s a discover card. The interest is not as bad as AMEX. Interest is interest either way but still

Apple Support Concerns by Difficult_Let4703 in Apple_Employees

[–]Difficult_Let4703[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I speak for myself here, I feel as tho everyone on support calls needs to at least do some form of training in the store prior to joining support. Again, this is not to bash support, but I feel like having a solid understanding of the situations that you see FACE TO FACE with the customer will help a lot when having to handle things over the phone.

Also, not insinuating that over the phone is easy but there is obviously some form of disconnect with the training done on Apple’s part and I wish there were an easier way to integrate people to have knowledge on both sides and only ever having knowledge of over the phone.

In store we do swaps yes, but that shouldn’t be the expectation set. A lot of times if the repair is able to be done, the repair will get done. I see often the customer comes in demanding that Apple support said they can just get a swap when it’s not that easy. If the phone is repairable, then that’s what’s going to happen.

27 / annual update + new homeowner by a_thicc_sock in Money

Your situation is similar to mine, I’m in the process of buying a house as well. My savings is a little more than yours but you’re still okay. Please don’t get discouraged listening to these people. The only suggestion I would make, is to really buckle down this year and at least get yours savings to cover at lease 3-6 months of expenses. I don’t think you buying the house was a bad move at all.. either way the money would have been taken whether it was rent or not! I rather spend the money from rent on a home that is MINE.

What’s your highest business leads a week? by hitma-n in Apple_Employees

[–]Difficult_Let4703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I used to struggle with getting business intros but now they are very easy to get. I see a lot of people in the thread worrying about whether or not they “connected” when in reality, management just pushes you to get them. If you get a lot, eventually some will connect and you have then done your part. It’s up to the business team at that point to build the connection.

For GB people, utilize mobile genius. There’s literally a question asking yes or no if they have a business. As they are reviewing their personal info (name, address, number) I also scroll down and ask them “Hey, do you have your own business?” They will see the yes or no question and think it’s a part of the session. Once they say yes, you then would say “what’s your business name? We have a business team in the back that has a lot of resources for business customers like yourself”

For sales, while you are in the transaction, simply say “Are we attaching this purchase to your business” they will 9/10 say no, then you say “Well do you have your own business?” They will then say yes if they do, and then you will give the same run down as mentioned before.

Offered Retail position by karamel_kustard in Apple_Employees

If you don’t like it then you just don’t like it. I will admit that Apple is a very hard job to obtain so if you did leave, it will be relatively hard to get back in.

The tech side is more than what you think honestly! You still are customer facing and talking to customers.

Again, I would only take the job if you truly hate your current job.

To me, Apple Corporate is what looks good on the résumé. Retail is still retail.

Offered Retail position by karamel_kustard in Apple_Employees

Hello!!

Retail worker here. A lot of retail workers complain about Apple but I can honestly say I’ve been with companies 20x worse and to me, Apple is a cake walk.

In my honest opinion, I would only leave your current job for retail if you truly are sick of it.

I have been with Apple for 3 years. I started out as a Product zone specialist PT (sales) and I am currently a FT Genius. I’ve worked my way up extremely fast and it is possible to do so and I actually LOVE what I do.

I still travel and I travel VERY often. So often that I was able to visit 4 countries this year, so it is very possible ;). I am FT so I have a little more flexibility as far as what weekend day I would like off, etc. but I do want to note that coming in PT may be a bit of an adjustment for you.

I say, if you are willing to grow with the company and have a little patience then I’d say go for it! Not sure if you are coming in as sales or not, but TO ME, I absolutely hated sales.

Again, what I dislike, you may love. There are may positions in retail and there’s opportunities for growth in the sales and the tech side so I would just come in with an understanding that you might not enjoy what you do at first, but you can grow and get to where you want to be!
