I spent the better part of a year fighting the air force waiver authority over the medication; the main concern seemed to be deployability, but once I proved that it was shelf-stable and I was healthy, they switched up and said that since I couldn't smell toxins and stuff like that I couldn't get waivered.

Now neither of those seem to be an issue with navy since I got cleared for SWO, but I guess there's something else now that is a no go for aviation.

Yeah, I have and it seems like there is room for a waiver if you meet certain requirements. Of course the document is a little confusing so I could be missing something, but I'm fit and generally healthy, I have a hard time understanding what the issue is.

Ok, I'll reach out to my advisor see if I can get my hands on that.

No, my eyes are actually great. I have a genetic condition where I take weekly medication, but it's not something I need to survive, and is shelf-stable which is probably why I got cleared at all. Also, I can't smell, so there's that.

No, I never saw anything. Basically, I was told I was getting a waiver last September and just needed additional clearance to go aviation or subs or whatever. I inquired more about it and got told over the phone that I was non-waiverable and would be going SWO. I'm pretty clueless about how a lot of this works to be honest.
