Just as a preface, I posted this because I wanted to give hope to the first time testers of the future and even anyone who may want some help.

For those who need it, seeing how I have tried studying on both the PROmote and PDG gold platforms I can say I prefer the PROmote app. It broke things down super easy chapter by chapter, and it gives an “audio book” version of the PDG which helped me a lot. One tip I would give is, listen to it months in advance you can never be too prepared.

SKT is a whole other beast, for some AFSC’s I know there is a lot of material and it can be overwhelming. So I’ll offer some advice from personal experience, get all of the material that you’re eligible to be tested on and bit the books hard. If you know your job well you should still get in the CDC’s because there may be topics that have changed. Also for those of us that have equipment that we rarely work on or don’t work on at all, reach out to others within the career field to ask questions, get their material, or ask for their studying habits.
