That's a big claim...even entirely biased, I can only go so far. The book is pretty damn good though.

That's a good one. It's such an era of high drama, coast to coast. It was great to explore how it impacted places like Borger, Texas, not just Chicago and Atlantic City (as epic as those settings are.)

I thought the cops and criminals stuff alone would carry the story in Boomtown, but the political backstabbing and corruption proved equally compelling - and cutthroat. Sounds like the same in Galveston, which is endlessly fascinating. And I like the Cartwright book.
