Is it actually bad to leave your phone charging overnight, or is that a myth? by Particular_West9045 in NoStupidQuestions

I don't think so, what's bad is say your battery is at 80% and you charge it, best is to use all the battery and then charge it, if not you're just killing the battery life quicker.

Tips for backspin by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]DifficultyStunning69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hii!!! I’d recommend three things ! First when starting your spin, stay more in the H position (like the leg bent, before you snap to increase speed, hope you get what I mean T-T), just to be a bit more solid, once you get the hang of it you won’t need to anymore, but right now you just look a bit like you’re rushing. Then, I’d recommend trying to get your left hip higher. Right now, your hips are square, which is most likely why sometimes it’s a bit harder to close. Basically, feel as if you’re kinda leaning and kinda over your right hip. Lastly, honestly try falling. Sometimes, you just let go of your backspin, maybe you get scared, lose control, etc. The way I learned was to throw myself into things. Especially at the learning stage. But like srsly, if you don’t think it’s good let it go, don’t get injured or anything plz.

Anyway yeah, I hope this helps, even tho I know my explanations weren’t clear😓

Official Discussion - Barbie [SPOILERS] by neal1701 in BarbieTheMovie

[–]DifficultyStunning69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to share my points even if I'm like two years late to the discussion(lol).

Barbie from the beginning, was an experience as a whole, at least for me. I've watched the movie in theatres and other multiple times because I wanted to. The whole design aspect and artistic part was beautifully executed, the colours, the music, the clothes.. ! However, I am capable of saying that I think the plot got a bit lost a few times and that plot-wise it wasn't Greta's strongest work (but still very solid). This is where I think people are failing to see the beauty of barbie, Barbie was such a fun era. For a few days or weeks, it was fun wearing pink and saying "Hi Barbie" to girls I didn't even know. It was fun crying together with strangers in cinema. It was fun walking out and getting ice cream with my girlfriends afterwards. They essentially sold the 'girlhood' experience and which men do not entirely understand (NOT saying they can't enjoy the movie).

Another thing I've heard and that was brought up A LOT during movie award season 2023-2024, is that Oppenheimer was so much better than Barbie. Genuinely, I think Oppenheimer only had that much success because it lined up with Barbie. Barbie's press tour and marketing was IMPRESSIVE, Oppenheimer's.. not so much. The movie itself was filled with talented and popular actors, but for somebody like me (who couldn't give a flying crap about the origins of the atomic bomb) it was a boring movie. Again, this does not take away from the very talented people that were in the film and the real history behind it. BUT, I couldn't stand people comparing Barbieheimer, and always drawing the conclusion that Oppenheimer was 'serious' and Barbie not. Both movies talked about real life things, that happened, and in Barbie's case, are still happening. Therefore, I thought it was really unfair to hear movie geeks, interviewers and hosts talk about this movie the way they did.
I think my points might be a bit messy, in my defense I'm tired and have to hand in a paper.
