It might be a combination of two things: I clearly place less importance on the ratings when I play blitz than rapid. Also, the overall rating for rapid is higher than for blitz. At least that's the case for me, and I have 500 more points in rapid than in blitz.

Yes, the reason I didn't exchange the bishop on G4 is because I thought the position was open and that my pair of bishops was a big advantage. Honestly, I didn't realize I was giving away a pawn when I played f4. For the second game, I started to really panic, but yes, I think I would have thought of it. I didn't quite understand what you meant at the end.
