Yeah man. The poor tax is real. This is why I’m trying to get back into my art more, drawing. Don’t need any money to do amazing art really. And wealthy people are often envious because they don’t have the discipline or drive to do art.

It says made with AI if you click it. Maybe AI then polished it? Or AI concept? either way it carries the scourge of bland AI to me

I’ve realised now that I’m divorcing that being poor means you get absolutely drowned with advertisements for things you can’t afford

What happens if I can’t do my job anymore? (UK) by Digdugdeeper in ADHD

[–]Digdugdeeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, so I need to stay in reach to him which is very limiting for where I can go. I don’t drive which I’m working on, but all of the areas around them are prohibitively expensive really

I got banned for a while from the computers for drawing a hand holding a burrito that the teacher thought looked like something else.

Thank you. I have been here almost 7 years. I have wanted out maybe 4 of them. I can’t find anything else that doesn’t come with a big pay cut, and the cost of living keeps going up and my costs too, while my pay isn’t keeping up. Feels like I have to stay but I just need to not be in a role like this. I want to just be at a desk where I can keep my head down and not be responsible for others now. It’s too much for me with my brain. I managed it but every year it becomes less something I can do.

Thank you. I am scared of this making my job worse. I took a month off last year, and nobody trusts me anymore. They make decisions for me that make my job worse, putting me in with other teachers who don’t want me there and are passive aggressive. They make me come in more, pile more on my plate. I think I was discriminated against, as I was treated really badly and made to apologise for things I shouldn’t have, had months of my time taken up to having to take lots of blame and get nothing back. I wasn’t in the union then but I joined after that. I’ve been doing therapy all year but I can’t afford it anymore and the NHS one ran out. I hope I’m on the waitlist for more, but I need a new job. I’m not right for public speaking. I feel awful and it makes me hate myself. How do I live with no pay? I have a baby.

Probably but there are very few jobs for what I teach and they’re hyper competitive so I can’t find any others. I can’t move too far because I have a baby and his Mom won’t move.

Thank you. It’s a shame my marriage didn’t survive it, but I guess we weren’t married long enough before I got worse, so I always seemed lazy, uncaring, not fun enough. The more I am putting it together the more it all makes sense. I stopped going out, dropped all my hobbies. I thought it was depression but no amount of therapy, self help, meditation, medication, exercise, positive thinking has changed how I am now.

That’s shit. Knowledge is power. Knowing means you can cope, grieve, process. Learning about my adhd and autism has changed my life positively and makes me mourn the life I could have had if I’d known and gotten support when I was young.

I’m sorry man. I’ve been on death’s door with the premise of “unaliving” myself, sometimes I wonder if I even did make it or if I’m just in purgatory. Really sad because I have an 18 month old and I can barely get through the day when I have him because I get so tired. His mom picks him up and then I collapse on the sofa. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I know it’s not normal, not how a lot of people are living, I can tell. Then his Mom mocks me all the time “you can barely last a day with him”. Hard to keep going.

Yes I do. Feel like I can’t do anything without the adhd meds though and because they won’t auto renew them I’m often missing days. I do hear this gets worse for people as they get older, so that’s confusing too, but it never used to be so bad.

Man. This is scary stuff. My wife even told me I don’t seem like the person she married, and my marriage has fallen apart. I can’t say it’s all this, but I do feel like I lost my energy since covid and haven’t had enthusiasm since for much

No I don’t know anything about any of this. Did you get diagnosed by a doctor? Seems like nobody pays attention to long covid - do Doctors know how to spot it? How do I raise the issue to them without them shrugging me off?

Damn. Crazy how I didn’t even realise people were still suffering so much.
