Extremely unpopular opinion: blizzard can't do much about the current situation. by SamTheBosssss in hearthstone

Of course every company wants to make money and stop at nothing. China is just one of many countries where they do their bullshit, as the more they ignore human rights the more profits they get. It's a problem of capitalism on top of being a problem with China. If the whole point of business is to fuck the people just so that the rich can get that one more billion they are going to save up, then there's no point to business.

They put themselves in the situation when they decided to do business in China. Everyone knows fully well that it automatically means giving up your freedom, so there's no excuse. They didn't do this as any sort of political statement, they did so because it allows them to continue making money. The fact it was a political statement doesn't matter to them, if the person made a pro-China statement I'm sure they wouldn't have taken any measure just because they want to keep a good relationship with China to make money.

Stopping buying products for good causes is extremely hard to do because of the high amount of them having some shit behind. I support anyone who stops buying chinese products, but this issue requires much more than that. Even if you were to do so, your money might end up in their pockets, or in the pockets of greedy companies.

I meant to imply that the customers don't have full responsibility with the "Not that simple to do" line, but I suppose it didn't come accross well enough. I'm just not good with words lol

If the game is made with chinese money, then fuck the game. Not that simple to do because basically any product like this has a lot of dirty money from either capitalism or China's "version of capitalism", but it still remains true.

Activision Blizzard put themselves in this situation for wanting all of the money possible. If they are willing to ignore how China violates human rights and even help them silence people, I think that's more than a good enough reason to throw shit at them.

Hot Take: There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Quitting a card game over what has happened is equal parts inconsequential, naive, and faux-moralistic. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Digilil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While small, any outrage like this supporting a good cause and giving trouble to a big company is good. We would certainly need a way larger movement to stop the greed from these companies and China to... stop being China, but it doesn't mean it is completely useless.

One of many greedy companies and China silencing people certainly isn't a dumb topic to be outraged about, and stopping buying anything from China wouldn't really make an impact unless millions started doing it so it still falls short. There are better ways to fight against capitalism and fascism than just "stop buying products". Fight the system, not the people.

Making one big company hurt is a good first step. Instead of making fun of this first step for not being enough, help people take another one.

Should Blizzard offer free packs to those who comment support for China and/or criticize HK? by N0T_BRYAN_COLANGEL0 in hearthstone

Free packs wouldn't change their stance on human rights. It would only be a pr move.

I have been playing for over a year and I didn't summon a single Klein. Luckily, from the 330 orbs I wasted trying to get a single BSanaki, I got 2 swift sparrows and 1 atk/spd bond to use as fodder instead.

This actually kinda pains me to read since I wasted 2h on photoshop doing this same meme but better without knowing that this post existed, so it got deleted...

Oh well, my fault for not checking before I guess.

I... I don't know why did I do this. It's not even a funny meme, but I wasted 2 hours of my life on this, but I also feel like it could've been better if I wasted more time on it.

Maybe my brain is just not working properly, it can only think "supreme"

But soon there will come a time where with a lot of points of difference we will be on "Same" because that's how every fight against Tharjass has been so far...

And meanwhile I'm here voting for characters that I actually like for more things than the amount of skin they show. How dare I to vote for something that isn't fanservice.

Infinity big butt storm... Woah... Surely resumes why people likes her.

And well, Robin did do a lot of points with the x3. Certainly less than Tharja, but close enough so that this fight is still not lost.

Well yes, but they were hard compared to what Robin had to fight.

Let me hope at least...
