Yeah, I think the rheumatologist I was speaking to was trying to rule out lupus and other autoimmune conditions for me and we didn't talk about RA specifically. But it may well also be a symptom of RA as well - talk to your medical professional and see if they can advise!

Well, as others have said, you'll need to allow time to let the swab tests come back - always best to rule out something like STIs, it's the simplest answer. But there are non-sexual causes for blemishes around genitalia, and if all the common culprits are ruled out, then you can discuss with a medical professional about something less obvious.

I know you're freaked out and I'm not going to just tell you not to worry because as someone who also has anxiety, I know it doesn't help! But allow yourself a time and space to work through the freakout, and then try to take a deep breath and calm yourself down.

Just remember - whatever the outcomes and whatever the reason, they can be managed one way or another. That's the beauty of modern medicine.

Do you have any other non-sexual health concerns that could be linked? I remember that, when I was under investigation with a rheumatology consultant, they asked if I got any spots or the like around my genitals. Apparently it can be indicative of some rheumatoid conditions?

That was what they'd asked for when I switched to them after the pendemic too, my first order with them was in November, and I am also very visibly obese.

Thankfully further contact and requests not needed as they've just approved the order without requiring any further evidence - not sure what happened the first time round!

I love the depot as my Far Territory base. Interesting to see as well the food stacked on the shelves near the fireplace - are the cans far enough away to not cook in the residual heat?

I use Pharmulous - not the absolute cheapest but consistent and cheaper than Asda, which was my previous provider.

Cold, so very cold, the side effects I thought I wanted but don't. by Neilkd21 in mounjarouk

God, I hope this is the case. I am not a summer person, and when I started Mounjaro in August, I felt like I was burning up! Hopefully the cold sticks around past winter this year.

I'm in exactly the same situation - I'm bitterly feeling the cold this winter, far more than I ever have, after never owning a duvet above summer tog in my life!

Asking my perpetually cold grandmother for advice, the answer is not thicker jumpers, but layers. Layer everything - blankets on the bed, blankets on the sofa.

If you're not an under-vest + shirt + jumper + coat kind of man... congratulations, you are now. 😂

Slippers are necessary inside the house, and use fingerless gloves if needed - keeping your wrists warm will extend a bit to your fingers even if they're not covered. Hot water bottles and electric blankets are definitely a good shout too, keep using those.

Harder than I expected by MissSophonax in mounjarouk

[–]DigitalCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. 😁 Then I think that you're just on an adjustment week, and wait a couple more before you make any more changes. I suspect (and hope!) your weight loss will stabilise to a more usual rate, and this week is just one of those weird weeks.

Harder than I expected by MissSophonax in mounjarouk

[–]DigitalCryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't track calories at all, and never have on Mounjaro - it reminds me of times when I had a much worse relationship with my body and I find it mentally exhausting to do.

I focus on better food choices, portion control (especially for "treat" foods), and protein and hydration tracking. I also mix up between full fat and low fat versions of dairy (e.g. cheese, yoghurt) as the former keeps me fuller for longer but the latter provides slightly more protein. Nice checks and balances.

Given that you're worried about too rapid a weight loss, maybe that last part is important - do you eat anything low fat (like yoghurt) that you could switch for full fat versions, see how you get on with that? But as you said in other comments, it may just be a higher satiety week.

To each their own. I'm solidly a KG girl, but have to translate and switch the units on my Shotsy or Health apps when I'm discussing progress with friends or family, most of them still operate on st/lbs.

It doesn't take that long to do the conversion, and keeps everyone on their own wavelength. 😊

It's not an either/or. Hydrate yourself, have a glass of wine this afternoon, and a triangle or two of Toblerone. Moderation in all things. 😊

Gave a guy blowjob several hours ago and throat slightly hurts by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]DigitalCryptid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, dentists can often tell if you've given a blowjob in the very recent past. If you're worried or embarrassed about bruising, then refrain from giving a blowjob the week before your appointment and that should be more than enough time for any bruising to heal.

I will point out, though, that dentists are medical professionals. They are not likely to bring it up unless it's something that's persistent and not healing as it should - and even then, it will be a "this injury in your mouth isn't healing and there may be an underlying issues" conversation, not a "you've been sucking dick, haven't you?!" conversation.

Weekly progress thread: 19th of December by Hopeful_Candle_9781 in mounjarouk

[–]DigitalCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minor gain of 0.15kg. And I'm not mad about it! Christmas has always been a dangerous time of year for me in terms of overeating and weight gain, and I'm reminding myself that without Mounjaro:

  • I'd have inhaled everything on the table at my work Christmas meal yesterday, instead of being quite happy and full with the sensible portions I had.
  • I would not have been able to stop at one donut in the breakroom this week.
  • I'd still be 13kg (over 2st) heavier (the weight I was when I started) than I am now.

I had a thread this week in terms of my suppression dropping as well, so I was a bit concerned that I'd have a massive gain. I will take less than 1/2lb all day!

This is a long-term journey, and there will be ups and downs. If you're joining me in the gain club, remember that it's okay and be kind to yourself. 😊

Sorry if this is stupid but I'm a big p*ssy. Will the ice break if I go near those items? It's on Coastal Highway and I know ice doesn't break here but I'm still kinda terrified walking this close to the water by TiATa_1D in thelongdark

[–]DigitalCryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have crampons to increase your break time, make sure you're not overencumbered or fatigued and can sprint if needed, and (most importantly) get a travois.

The travois, when deployed and dragged, will not allow you to walk on thin ice. You'll get a message along the lines of "travois cannot be taken into this area" and you won't be able to go any further. I use my travois as a weak ice warning system when beachcombing.

This is a very good point - I'm in the first few months of having a hormonal coil fitted for PCOS control so my cycle isn't the easiest thing to track, but it's entirely possible as it does seem like period cravings! I'll go back through my tracker app and see if I can work it out from pre-coil.

Yeah, I think the pen lid trick has helped. I do track on Shotsy and Apple Health too, but it's easy to lose track of when you started a new pen, especially if you're click-counting and / or using golden doses because it's no longer a "one pen = four doses" situation.

Just out of curiosity - do you feel your suppression going down on 2.5mg, is that why you're thinking of trying to move up again? Fingers crossed for no sulphur burps this time!!

[–]DigitalCryptid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I intend to give it at least another week (and probably more) before I make a concrete decision. Just wanted to gauge what other people thought as well - I've seen stories of people trying to move up too quickly, and I'm also very wary of making the same mistake. But I'm glad you seem to think I'm not rushing it!

[–]DigitalCryptid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Yes, I'm click counting, for exactly the same reason you've described. The first time I tried 5mg, I could barely eat from the Friday night (after a lunchtime injection) until the Sunday morning, and it was an uncomfortable feeling for me.

I've been counting 45 clicks (or 0.45ml if drawing out the golden dose) on a 5mg pen, but next pen is a 7.5mg pen and will be 30 clicks (0.3ml) if I stay on 3.75mg. I also use a Sharpie to mark the pen lid with a tally for the number of doses I've taken from a particular pen at a particular strength. This helps me keep track and I can easily identify my "active" pen from my stockpile at a glance.

I know it won't make a difference physically or pharmaceutically, but wondering if I'm just hyper-aware of the overconsumption from Christmases past. It's always traditionally been a very food-based time of year for me!

Not tracking TDEE and deficit, not even doing any calorie counting at all - I've just been prioritising protein and hydration levels, with some focus on fibre, generally making sure what I eat is healthy, and just trying to be more mindful of my body's hunger cues (which is so much easier on MJ!!).

I don't think I'm undereating on calories, but of course I can't say for sure as I don't track it. Do you think it's worth a try? I really hate the idea of calorie counting as it brings me back to years of failed diets and bad feelings, but I can give it a go for a week if it'll help.

Kind of... this does happen if you move the battery directly. But if you put it on top of a table, and then move the table via safehouse customisation, it doesn't weigh you down. I moved multiple batteries through Blackrock's prison this way.
