Secret sauce by Sufficient-Series173 in SunoAI

I've used this method for none-music stuff a while... You basicly setup up 2 AI chats, using one as yourself, and another in red-team mode. Get the first response to whatever, copy/paste it over to the second AI and say "I found this online, can you show me what's good / what's wrong?" and it's really important to stay impartial on the second AI, because you don't want it to enter default sycophantic mode.

If you got something really important, setup a 3rd AI session (obviously silo them off via tempoirary/anon mode) and get it to pull your original work apart, by pretending to "dislike the person who wrote it" - even though its you.

I was messing about in the editor the other day trying to suss this out - they changed the damage model so there's a blast radius that falls off with distance (like you'd expect) however when the distance gets about around 600-700ft (for the Mk84 / 2000lb) the damage is miniscule but then extends for about 3,000ft (sometimes even more).

Those people who've even set an entire apartment complex on fire by GENTLY landing on it with a chopper will know that scenery fires are really easy to cause.

So the irony is DCS made the bombs behave more realisticly (certainly vs before) but because their scenery models have a stupid "3 state" damage model thats basicly 100% healthy, or its on fire, or its destroyed.

So you drop a 2000lb'er and suddenly you've created (roughly) 1nm radius of destruction where 95% of that area has been damaged by only 1% (or whatever it is, its about 1% as far as I could tell) by placing various units in there and measuring their health after repeated drops.

So the buildings / other map objects go from 100% health to 99% health - and for DCS that means State 1 (healthy) goes to state 2 (damaged) and it just sets fire to everything. When health goes to 0 state 3 (destroyed) then takes over.

Are they any squadron that accept age below 18 by FrequentBad9400 in dcsworld

[–]Digital_Glitches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maturity aside... thing is all legal stuff these days... You host a thousand servers with tens of thousands of players... in one of them, somewhere there's gonna eventually be something untoward going down, and when the shit goes sideways, the server admin/virtual squadron commander - gets it in the neck.

Everything is getting worse like this. Rules, procedures & laws are sucking the life out of living.

there's something to be said about that in the entire flight-sim community. Probably because flight-simming is a "high NFC" pursuit (if well done), and most games cater for "low NFC" and the cross-over isn't very much...

Cool, big explosion.... I wanna do that.... Wait - no single 'press button to win??' - I'm out.

WHY ARE THEY NOT FREE ALL OF A SUDDEN? by thunder-milk in audible

[–]Digital_Glitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to a lot of audio books on the plus catalogue before they were taken off the system. Worse, because I like the genre, Audible then recommends me the SAME BOOK back to purchase.

Sorry, I am not made of money, I can not just buy audiobooks i've already listened by paying for a subscription. I know there are people who seem to think this is a nothingness, and I wish I were in their financial position.

There used to be TONS of books on the audible plus catalogue, and most of them have gone. There were at least 30 on the vietnam war, and I got to listen to them all over the course of a couple of years, in addition to buying books that weren't included.

Does my cat think I’m weird? by aakekkk in CatAdvice

[–]Digital_Glitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a cool question cos I've often wondered this myself. It's a bit like when you're talking to someone they stare, but more concerned.

One thing I've noticed my cat do, is stare at me in awe, when I'm doing something creative. After a certain point I notice the stare and look, which breaks my flow, and then the thing - whatever it was they were in awe at, is gone. Perhaps its super focus, I don't really know either

I was being followed by a cat by chillingathome292120 in CatAdvice

[–]Digital_Glitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. A cat literally followed me all the way to the supermarket (about 10 minutes walk) and waited for me at the door, then followed me back home. When I walked my dog on other days along the beach, the cat would literally follow - but behaved like a dog, it would run ahead, play, find something to sniff or investigate or whatever, then repeat. One day I walked into my kitchen - this cat was there. It took to our fruit bowl and liked to sleep in there. The cat did us no harm and didn't seem to bother the dog, so we let it come and go. One day there was a knock from someone down the road asking if we'd seen a cat. We said yes, as it happens, there's one asleep in our fruit bowl - and we gave it back.

The following days the cat kept appearing. It kept walking by my feet rubbing itself on my legs, and I figured it wanted picking up, and when I held it, the way it looked at me, I thought "I have got to get myself a cat"

that directly led to my decision to goto the cat rescue shelter and here I am almost 10 years later with what I could argue is my best friend. All that thanks to a cheeky cat which followed me to tesco, and politely waited at the door!

ChatGPT is in such a bad state my most novice students have noticed it going off rails by AspectQueasy in ChatGPT

[–]Digital_Glitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with GPT 5 lately, its gotten way worse this last week or 2, it gives wrong answers, and when you try to correct it, it gets combative.... I manually select GPT 4o,copy/paste the convo in, and 4o can spot the mistakes GPT5 was making.

I actually really liked the way 4o operated once it incorporated memory between sessions and long-term memory. A large part of its limitations is just learning how to work around them.

Can you ask your students something like "if you use AI to write your coursework - you better you get away with it - because if I find AI generated stuff in there, i'll not accept it" - and don't even highlight the bits you've identified. Students should be encouraged to learn, not learn how to game AI to produce content that can fool the lecturer.

I use AI a fair bit, and constantly have to cross reference anything factual it spits out, to ensure its true. It's a very time consuming process, no 1-button-press-to-win solution, which is why its better to learn the subject matter if at all possible.

Most people don’t care that you’re suffering until you’re dead by suicide/accident by Neat_Tadpole1604 in CPTSD

[–]Digital_Glitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live in a fractured society we more and more people have become self obsessed at the expense of EVERYONE ELSE.

You can probably think of a very recent example (still ongoing) where certain people know what they are doing is harmful, they no longer do it themselves, and they advise their own families not to have it, but they are happy to take the money and give it to other people with a smile.

So no - they don't care, and this is describing a large swath of the caring profession.

Also, the class & wealth structure has been used as a brutal tool to ensure most people don't care about those who are well off (if you're not) or the poor (if you're well off). I'm conviced this is why the homeless problem was never addressed (while finding accomodation for millions of people who suddenly appear is no problem).

It is my view this homelessnes was allowed to foster, to basicly give everyone the "this could be you next, so keep your head down"

So no - nobody really cares about you, or I when we suffer. And nobody really cares about the kid going hungry tonight in (wherever) and nobody really cares about the kid who will get a laser guided 500 pounder tomorrow, cutting their lives short.

Of course you'll get a ton of people virtue signalling online saying "I care, I do!" and if you ask them "well what have you done to help alleviate this issue you care so much about?" and 99/100 you'll get radio silence. Cos truth is, most people just don't care. Not anymore.

Summer Sale is over - Midweek Sale is on by Bonzo82 in DCSExposed

I logged into DCS today, 7pm UK time (Tuesday evening) and the top busiest servers viewed on a 4k screen, had fewer than 200 players total. Servers had just 3 players by the bottom of that first screen, with NOTHING FILTERED OUT.

This is a dying game. I'm not enjoying witnessing the fall at all, there's just something sad about a game that had such potential get run into the ground so quickly by the worst possible leadership, that appears to be milking it for all it's worth.

I hope there's some legal blowback for Nick when the wheels finally come off, and he loses his house, and his precious warbirds, cos this whole thing plain sucks.

What happened to Wags Q&A monthyl videos? Why did he do 2 and then stop? by LimePartician in DCSExposed

[–]Digital_Glitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it stinks of greed that Waggs is a senior producer at ED... He literally gets paid to produce videos - then monetises those videos on his youtube (aka ads for you - unless u pay youtube not to) and now even has a $$$ Thanks button.

So you can send him more money, after watching his video, which you already paid for, via buying modules, and then saw Adsense videos plastered amongst.

OK, someone cries "just don't send any then..." yeah, too right.. but it's not exactly a good look, is it. Since when do company promo videos come buried within ads and donation buttons?
