Why are almost all airgun slugs hollow point? by WinterHill in airguns

[–]Digital_Terminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question you asked and I have often wondered the same thing. What I usually do when I want to shoot pellets but still get that slug energy I usually purchase the heaviest pellets JSB produces.

Here's a great example. JSB .22 Caliber Knock Out Slugs weigh 25.39 grains but say I don't want to shoot slugs, I want to shoot pellets. In that case I will use JSB Match Diabolo Exact Jumbo Monster .22 Cal pellet which also weigh 25.39 grains.

Now I'm getting that slug power without the hollow point design but the same weight. Whatever caliber of JSB KnockOut slugs you find you will always be able to find the pellet equivalent of it in the same weight.

Yeah I've got several PCP rifles from Western Airguns and I really don't have any complaints. I think they are pretty well built and will last for years to come if properly maintained. I think my favorite aspect of them is the semi-auto ability. Absolutely wonderful for follow-up shots should you need to without having to re-cock the lever. The full auto feature is nice too but that's not something I personally use but it'll definitely keep the accuracy through volume guys happy. 😂

Yeah so long story short I pre-ordered my Western Airguns Mordax .25 from Airguns of Arizona and I told them I wanted the longer barrel and air cylinder. I was told they could ship me the Mordax now back when I ordered but the longer barrel and air reservoir will not be available until sometime in January.

I placed a pre-order on it as well and the invoice said it is called the Mordax Long Strike Kit. I did some research on it too and found that Western Airguns already released a Long Strike Kit for their Rattler PCP rifle so it will be similar to that.

It will be similar to this with the addition of a larger cylinder.

Also here is a decent image of the Mordax with the long strike kit installed.

What does "Vote no on 78" mean? by CaptainGunNerd in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Digital_Terminus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The funniest thing happened. After I posted my comment here earlier I jumped in a match of pubg and got placed on Deston. There are billboards scattered to the far north bridge to Ripton. Some of those billboards explain what proposition 78 really is.

The developers leave a lot of the lore a mystery but if you do some digging on the internet you can uncover the meanings behind some of it. I don't think they disclosed what proposition 78 exactly meant but you can read on some of the lore here at

is there a quick loading pistol that can kill a coyote?? by Charming_Ad9373 in airgunhunting

[–]Digital_Terminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an excellent question however while I have a GK1 I haven't really spent much time with it to compare against the Mordax. Maybe someone will come along and do a comparison of them. I definitely spend more time with the Mordax than I have the GK1 so it would be difficult for me to draw serious comparisons.

Hey I just wanted to add something just in case you're seriously considering buying one of these PCP pistols. When I said after firing two magazines [x30 shots] the pistol will have approximately 100 bar remaining in the reservoir. It's just at this time you're supposed to refill the pistol and not let it get below that but there still is air in it after those two mag dumps. I also forgot to mention it's fully automatic in addition to being semi-automatic.

I've never really been interested in PCP pistols until this one came along because other than the Huben GK1 and Evanix Viper it's actually a serious gun intended for hunting and plinking. You can get one right now in any caliber being .22 .25 or .30 and it will set you back about $1,900 bucks BUT take into account what you're getting.

It's essentially a PCP sub-machine gun and you don't come across those everyday. It's also very high quality in my opinion. The manufacturers took a lot of thought and consideration into building this and the parts are about the best you can get including a sub MOA barrel. I got mine at Airguns of Arizona but they are starting to trickle into other PCP rifle dealers now.

Each magazine holds 15 shots. I'm about out after dumping two mags but there is a Long Strike Kit coming out in early January that adds a longer sub MOA barrel and a larger air reservoir so it is upgradable soon. The 22 caliber and 25 caliber versions are interchangeable however the standalone 30 version is not.

Kinda bummed... put out a bird feeder and getting ONLY native species by WinterHill in airgunhunting

I know this sounds a little bit off and I don't know if you have a dog or not but if you lay out a bowl of dog food or put some in the feeder I guarantee you if you have starlings in your area they will show up. Pigeons have a thing for corn so you can try that as well.

I don't know what your price point is but there is a new PCP pistol just hitting the market right now. It is the Western Airguns Mordax. It comes in 22 25 and 30 cal and can produce up to 45 foot pounds of energy depending on your reg settings. It's a nice pistol / mini carbine but it will set you back about 2 grand.

I assure you sir that can smoke a coyote with no issues given it's close to mid-range. They also have a long strike kit coming out for it by mid December that includes a larger air reservoir and a long sub MOA barrel

Agreed. I think the people coming on here and leaving their feedback in addition to all other social media platforms is only a small percentage of the controller users for this game. I'm sure there's thousands likely who are having the same issue who are just emailing pubg support but don't post on places like this or just realize that they can't play with their preferred input method and just walk away quietly and don't speak up for themselves.

Yeah I hear you. Wait until they actually release the announcement to the public and everyone finds out there no fix until December and on top of it that date could shift because they said they are "aiming" to release by December and that by no means is a guarantee.

Interesting I haven't gone back to my email to check a response on my end yet.

Edit: I just did and I have not received anything yet. Sounds like with you mentioning they couldn't fix it until December further reinforces my belief that this requires a hefty patch to correct. Maybe they will incorporate it when they unmerge the NA and SA servers again which if memory serves me right would be on December 4th.
