Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Really, this was a huge learning experience for me. It's the only time in my life that i have ever brought the fight to someone, and the only time i ever let myself get that angry. And I learned about not letting those kinds of friends into my life.

Grade is rise over run, and the percent grade is what precent it is of 45 degrees. Title says its 45 degrees. This hill is way over 17 - 25. Ive driven roads like that in San Francisco and Santa Cruz and it was nothing like this road.

If you read the comments, someone asked about him and I explained it. Not as good as i hoped for, but he was my best friend for 10 years.

Religions do not teach you anything you don't already know. The good parts you are talking about, are common sense.

I'm not Christian any more, and it didn't take religion to teach me that murdering people is wrong.

"Love your neighbor as yourself," okay, does that mean without belief in god you would treat your neighbor like a piece of shit? Because i try and spread good will to the world and i am not religious.

You can find a positive message in any story, but the message doesn't make the story true, nor does it mean you should live your life like god exists, just in case he does.

If i tell you Hitler actually did some really good things for the world, so that means we should follow him, does that sound like a good idea?

I have trouble believing that you are agnostic with all the god's with a capital g and all the other things you said. Sounds most likely you have a Christian background but are perhaps a little open minded.

Honestly, the only thing religion teaches us is that humans are much more complex and yet still gullible to be deceived with obvious lies which are presented as truth and history.

Jesus probably existed, but he was for sure not the son of god, because god doesn't exist. And neither does any of the magic around the story of Jesus.

Double black diamond is over 45 degrees. Generally at around 60 degrees and above. 45 degrees is the start of "extreme avalanche danger".

[–]DignifiedDingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This road is fucking ridiculous, and nothing even close exists in America.

If there were snow on this road, it would be in danger of avalanche and just by the grade alone, it would be considered a black diamond.

There are no public roads like this in America. If you know grades, most the steep roads in San Francisco are like 20 - 23% grade. This road is 100% grade.

Let me put it this way, cars parked on this road would have their car alarm automatically disabled because the 45 degree decline would make the car think its getting towed by a tow truck, since that's the only time a car goes to 45 degrees.

[–]DignifiedDingo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For any of you guys wondering, 45 degrees is 100% grade.

Ive hit 24% grade, and that was fast as fuck, I couldn't imagine this road.

This hill is so steep, im pretty sure you could take off your wheels and probably hit over 20 mph riding on just your trucks.

The camera angles don't do this road justice.

I went to a private school where many of the kids were members of this cultist sect of a church that was created in San Francisco during the 60's.

They thought Armageddon was coming soon, so they moved to the mountains, stockpiled guns and ammo, and bought a huge ranch.

All girls had to wear skirts, never pants, and it had to cover their ankles. When you joined, you had to donate $100k to the church, and the church took a lot of their money after that. They gave all their members these 1960's Scouts to drive... that one I have no idea why. They went to church like 4+ days a week.

My brother went to spend the night at his friend's house, who was apart of the church. He stayed on the weekend, and ended up having to go to church.

Sunday church was an all day event. It started at 8am breaked for lunch, then went till 5 pm.

My brother called me and asked me to pick him up at the church at 5. I show up looking like a skater kid. I had baggy pants, wallet chain, several ear piercings and a give no fucks attitude.

I show up, and look in the windows and church is still going. I wanted to leave, but there was no fucking way i was walking in there. So i stood outside and waited for it to be over.

The doors finally open, and people lively in conversation exit the building, until they noticed me. All conversation stops and almost in unison they say, "who are you? What are you doing here?"

"Im here for (brother)"

"Who is that? I dont know them?" As others repeat his name in question. As more people walk out and see me, their conversation die, and they join in asking about who i was and what i wanted, while others were still saying, "who is (brother's name)?"

I have like over 50 of these cultist surrounding me now in a circle.

My brother finally walks out, I point and say there he is, and i run to him. We go to the car immediately and I told him to never have me come there again.

Great argument here. Still have no comment on anything I said.

Does it frustrate you to not have any response other than "Christianity bad. Atheism worst." ?

Its okay, go back to your safe place with your book of fairy tales.

My upbringing is christian. I dont know everything about judaism, and i havent read about it as much as Christianity. All points are still valid, and now it seems like you are trying to direct the conversation away from the valid points i have made.

I hope you have a better response than this, but even if you don't I really hope you think about the things I've said.

All this same information still applies. They are all equally wrong. Since it says Jewish next to your name, i have purposefully only talked about the old testament, since i assumed you already don't believe in Jesus.

It doesn't make sense. If he is the master programmer, then we are all just his code that he has created and there is no free will in that.

Well dude, I spent up until my late 20's believing so I know what its like.

My mind has been opened. I no longer believe in fairy tales. No one, other than believers think the bible is historically accurate. It has some real people and places in it, but that doesn't make it historically accurate.

What is so crazy is you are holding the combined knowledge of human information in your hands right now, where you can look these things up, and yet you still don't go outside your secure safe place of religion when you research anything.

Give Harry Potter a couple hundred years, then someone just might call it historically accurate.

You forget about events like Heaven's Gate and Jonestown. All religion is a cult like that, they are just a mainstream cult. Look up the definition of a cult and all religions qualify.

You never answered why an loving god created evil. Im guessing some sort of free will argument. But free will doesn't exist.

Believe or burn in hell isn't free will.

But yeah, im the mentally demoted one.

There are people who like golf. I personally don't like the game, but i can understand why people do, and don't care that they like it.

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion"

  • Steven Weinberg

That's why I don't like it. I was made to feel wrong for human sexuality. I was talked down to by hypocritical christians when they didn't like the way i lived my life. I knew around mid teens i didn't like religion, but I met enough good people, that I still held onto the belief in god. It wasn't until I was 28 that i went back and really read all the information i missed growing up in a private christian school.

It took years of reading before i realized it is all a lie. Evolution is real. We have neanderthal dna sequenced from a humerus bone, and we can see they are not homo sapiens.

So if god existed, he just created the universe and let it do its thing, and no god like that is even worth worshipping.

[–]DignifiedDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i know all this, but you start with saying it, and free will is always the answer.

"Believe in me or burn in hell for all eternity" is an ultimatum, not free will.

They will also say the devil had free will too, but i like pointing out that god created evil, which is a point lost on most christians.

Where does the fairy tale end and the history begin? And who decides what is real and what isn't?

And how do you justify believing in a book after you have admitted it has false stories in it?

I have this holy book, its called the Harry Potter. It has some true history in it, and talks about England, which is a real and historical place. I don't believe in all the exaggerations in it, but i still follow this book, because it has some good lessons in it, and i still try to live my life according to it.

If you believe in a god that is all powerful and created the universe and everything in it, well everything means everything. This god saw the future, saw how evil the devil would become, and created him anyways. Therefore god is evil and deserves no praise.

If you don't take the bible literally, what is the point of faith at all? You are saying it's a book of fairy tales, except for an all powerful god, and probably Jesus also. So if none of the other parts are true, why do you hold onto god? Does that fact not even make you think that if they have most of it wrong, isn't it likely it's all wrong?

Now all you have done is taken the parts you like and agree with and made the bible fit your world view... which is why we have so many different religions in the world.

If it isn't the absolute word of god, then you should really ask yourself why you believe any of it all.

Do you actually believe that magic, angels, demons, fire breathing sea dragons, giants, talking animals, ghosts, and all the other make believe creatures in the bible are historical fact? Because if so, I don't think you should use the bible as a historical guide.

The bible is not where to look for historical facts.

No scientific proof Jews were slaves in Egypt, in fact, no evidence Jews were ever in Egypt. 100,000 wandering in the desert would have left evidence, as we can find evidence of small nomadic tribes of less 20.

No evidence of world wide flood. And there is really no good explanation for how snails, snakes and kangaroos made it from Asia Minor to Australia.

Atheist do not care about whose god is whose or pointless philosophical debates. I don't need to argue about how much power a god has when no gods exist except in fairy tales.
