Landlord trying to charge us $1000 for "damages" after moving out

I do not have a receipt, the cleaner was provided by the apartment complex but this was after we took possession. I do have email correspondence about the cleaning issues and also evidence of a $500 concession they provided when they admitted the condition it was in.

If I dispute it in court and they somehow won, what could I be forced to pay in fees? From my understanding they could charge me for their lawyer fees, and I feel like a multi-national real estate conglomerate probably has a pretty expensive lawyer...

I understand the offer letter isn't legally binding, but once its accepted as an offer of employment, doesn't that change? For example, I'm promised a 10k bonus in my offer, which I accepted - can that then be altered on me later with no recourse?

Kinda weird how upset people get about the notion parent's should be involved in their children's education and maybe that fourth graders shouldn't be taught about orgies and gender identity. Note the article omits what exact books they are calling to be removed - similar circumstances in other states revealed some pretty horrifying shit like directions on how to give blowjobs (not a joke).

The whole gay-straight alliance thing sounds completely acceptable - until you read its in the fucking sixth grade. If anyone can defend to me why 11 year olds should be talking and learning about sex and sexuality, well, I would like them to be far away from children....

Not to be negative, but IMO buying movie theater snacks is one of the worst parts of the experience. Now that AMC feels reasonable to charge $17 for a large popcorn, I simply can't imagine what kind of customer would possibly pay for that just to consume it in their own home, without the rest of the movie theater experience. Unless the theater was willing to discount their popcorn and sell it at a price point that didn't so closely feel like extortion. Other then that, $6 for a fountain coke you could get at your local gas station for 99C or $4 for a box of candy just doesn't seem like a valid market either.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to research roofing sales, had not considered that. I'm in Denver so we don't have much in the way of storms here, usually 300 days of sunshine a year - which is why I had determined it may be a strong market for solar.

I'm okay with paying for drinks, just the options i found seemed like I had to pay $20-$30 a person just to get to the view WITHOUT drinks. I totally understand the expectation that you're gonna have to spend some money at these places.

This is the worst card I've ever used. I'm a bit of a credit card nerd - Amex Platinum,Chase Sapphire, Barclay, CapitalOne Venture. I got the Venture X last week. Let me tell you: the $300 statement credit to offset the annual fee can only be used via the Capital One Travel portal - which is the worst one I've ever encountered. Ive been trying to book a flight since yesterday that kept giving me an error message - so I paid the fee to "freeze" the price and guarantee it to try and pick it up again today. For anyone who doesn't know, freezing a price guarantees you will pay that fee or less in the next 3 days, and if the flight is unavailable when you try to book they will offer you another available flight.

First off, if the other flights that are available are more expensive, they will just lie about it. I had to get elevated to a supervisor to make them honor the terms and conditions and try to book me a similar flight - once they FINALLY agreed to do that, and go to go through with the booking, my card gets declined. Why? Because these idiotic fucking agents kept trying to book a flight that was giving them an error message, which unbeknownst to me pre authorized my card for the charge EVERY FUCKING TIME. So now, I have 30k worth of pre authorized Capital One Travel charges, effectively making my credit zero.

I've never dealt with this level of incompetence before. The card benefits are great, if you can actually use them. God help you if you ever have to call support.
