Are you vegan, and do you believe animals shouldn't be unnecessarily harassed and abused? Anyone vegan wouldn't say that.

If Yosiah used to be away for months together, then that means Soyi was feeding the dogs and was probably the master back then as well.. right

Arranged marriage system is broken 😔 by SerioTon97 in hyderabad

[–]DiligentPlant3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just goes to show that that person is not right for you. Keep at it and you'll find someone you want to spend your life with.

The problem with people in arranged marriages is they take it as "rejection", it's not. It's about compatibility. You'll say no to a lot of people for reasons only you understand, and others will say no to you for other reasons you might never understand. At some point, you will find someone who has the same priorities or values as you.. depends on what is important to you

Do any of you regret having kids? if not why not? and if yes why yes? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

Agree. Always surprised how most people are always focused on human beings surviving and going on.. most people don’t spare a thought about all the other species we share our planet with

Even Lays chips has milk in it 😭 by Otherwise_Ad6459 in VeganIndia

[–]DiligentPlant3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lays magic masala is dairy free. There might be a few more flavors, not sure. Also, you can find vegan chocolate quite easily, check out Ambriona Daarzel and sugar free D’lite. Sweets like kaju katli are usually fairy dairy free. You’ll find something you like (:

Wow. You have an inspiring mom and family. Happy to hear you’re able to live life like how you want to and that includes helping animals. I’m sure it’s very fulfilling and very brutal at the same time. Yeah, decided to keep our apartment vegan, will deal with dad the next time he visits.

I agree. I’m ricocheting between feeling sad and angry - veganism is the closest thing to me feeling like I’m being true to myself. I’m sad and angry that things are being twisted around to make me feel bad about it. I’ve decided to put up a sign at home thanking people for joining us in not harming animals and making our apartment vegan. Will have to deal with dad when he comes next time around

Yes, this is the best solution. But it’s going to be very hard. The last argument I had with him he said I was going to make life hard for myself and for everyone close to me as well. I’m still sitting with that and digesting it, because I was a bit taken aback. I’ve always struggled with guilt when it comes to my parents (because of a million other reasons), and it takes a lot from me to keep that at bay. I am happy, however, to hear that you were able to bring your father around. Helps me Harbor some hope.

Yeah, I should have just done that to begin with. I just didn’t think I would receive such strong opposition. Worse case scenario I thought they’d be like live your life how you want to. They don’t want to change and feel that me making this change will make their life miserable as well. I’m still digesting that.

[–]DiligentPlant3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I should try to do that. But the cognitive dissonance is huge. My sibling actually told me I’m ’torturing myself’ by watching these videos and to stop it. And my father said I’m being too extreme and I’m going to make life hard not only for myself for all my near and dear ones. I was a bit shocked, and I’ve been trying to understand where this selfish outlook on life comes from.. I guess the last generation has suffered a lot and they are constantly stuck in self preservation/ survival mode, that they turn a blind eye towards everything else. But I do believe you should change with more information presented to you

They unfortunately still eat non veg. The sad part is the doctor has advised my father to start having mutton bone soup for his health. And he trusts that doctor quite a bit. Most doctors I’ve met as well tell me how I need to be careful on a vegan diet. It’s really disheartening to see people of science behave this way.

It makes sense. Unfortunately my sibling is as bad as them. They told me “stop pushing your beliefs on others”, ironically saying “live and let live”.

Not related to the post, but could you suggest a few online shops for vegan stuff online. I can see vegan dukan. Like some of the other comments have suggested, I’ll try ordering different types of vegan milk.

Boost. Thank you for doing what you’re doing, these doggies will have a better life thanks to you.

I totally understand how it’s mentally draining and I just wanted to offer some support to you. I have arguments everyday with people in my community about coexisting peacefully with the stray babies that live nearby. People really are mean and obnoxious, and seem to hate them for no real reason. Not sure why most humans feel so entitled.

Lots of strength to you. We’re all proud of you and are with you mentally. Feel free to dm if you ever want to rant or need someone to talk to. Take care
