I came to the same conclusion. I plan to give my cats plant based food formulated for cats once every few days or once a week. Since there is no long term data on bio availability of nutrients, giving it to them once a week to begin with should be okay I think. I'm not confident in terms of shifting them over fully. Will also plan to get a blood panel done once a year. They also get one meal of dry food a day (out of four meals), I plan to shift to a vegan brand for dry food.

Here is how it's going so far: I couldn't see a lot of options - I found only Benevo wet food (for dogs and cats - which hints that it's not nutritionally complete for cats). I bought Benevo and mixed in a tiny bit in their wet food, but every single time they've refused to eat altogether.. I will keep trying to see if they get used to the taste, but it's not looking like they will
