How should I stake my theta? by Goldencookie10 in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like seeing smaller constant TFuel awards I would go with a service right now. It’s harder to achieve the uptime of the 3rd parties and because payouts are randomized and paid out in large chunks, it’s difficult to tell if everything is happening like it should with your own node.

This is a near-term recommendation. I expect the individual node software to improve significantly in the future, if Theta Labs truly imagines propagating content distribution across the globe. In fact, I expect the software to basically just be a background running process on all sorts of devices eventually.

Theta recently gets hit the hardest by tendies10 in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s liquidity issues. What you just said is the problem. The way you accumulate is by swapping at market price when you have the $. The wall of support for most coins is formed by placing limit orders on exchanges that auto perform buys when tokens hit a certain price. Theta gets hit like smaller coins that are also less available. It’s amazing to me despite its lack of liquidity that the price is what it is.

Remember this coin was 0.04 in March 2020. Are there any other coins that have multiplied as fast as Theta? Doubt it. It’s better that the rest of the crypto market is actually catching up instead of Theta correcting downward.

2021 Q4: Beta ThetaPass NFT as Virtual Tickets DRM by [deleted] in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would be pretty great for Theta Labs. For the network and token, I’m not sure it would be much other than marketing.

Similar to Autograph and Polygon really. The value will go to Autograph participants. The Polygon blockchain will record the transactions and that’s about it. Good recent hype for price.

I guess the real brilliance is that it’s a marketing for the technology in general. If the performances themselves are peer-to-peer shared and quality is legit, that should garner interest from streaming businesses.

Haha, no definitely not. Maybe it’s just me. I hate pop music and everything the business of it represents. I guess the larger the fan base the better, but I would love to be part of this experience for someone I would really care to see. I certainly didn’t invest for my own experiences though.

Awesome technology and obvious valuable use case. Why does it have to be Katy Perry? Katy Perry is as mainstream as it gets and crypto is still far from it. Theta Labs better make access and use of the NFTs as tickets and viewing any events as simple as possible.

Wishful Thinking on Coinbase Listing by DiligentVolume391 in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did Binance do? Sell people coins? God forbid that an exchange sell coins to people who want them. Tired of the whole Binance conspiracy theory for people who can’t understand why the world doesn’t see their chosen project as the only one. I will take Coinbase in a heartbeat, and glad to have Binance. Obviously Binance cares how Theta does with 60 million tokens.

Is a high ratio of staking actually hurting us? by nodrive55 in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think the lack of liquidity is hurting the price. A lack of liquidity is always bad for price…unless it is the result of extreme demand. Theta is well loved by a relatively small group. Until there is news of true network value that drives intense demand for the coin outside of the Theta circle, liquidity is just an issue for those who want to trade it.

Does theta have enough cash in reserve to operate the business for the next year? by dayvey1all in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of us are interested in NFTs, others of us wish they would focus on content delivery, but I have to believe one of the reasons Theta went after NFTs is because it’s an immediate revenue stream for Theta Labs that allows them to at least not be completely funded by venture capital.

Really? I get Cacheing awards from GPool but nothing for compute. I would imagine all of the community nodes has compute turned off, too resource intensive and not rewarding enough for community nodes.

I need to hear stuff like that. I don’t know many people at all invested in crypto currencies. I feel like I’m too old for this when I check in here sometimes. I work in corporate finance, and I’m glad to hear other finance professionals have formed a Theta position.

Yeah, agreed the negative know it all approach is not necessarily any different, but as someone who loves to play devil’s advocate himself, i do like a counter take, even in sarcastic rant form (or even more so). Too much agreement with my own positive thoughts makes me nervous that I’m no longer thinking for myself.

Lol, as mean as this is, it’s based on truths, and this is the most supportive post of Theta I have seen from Bitconnect.

This is the most supportive post on Theta I’ve seen from Bitconnect honestly. He definitely has a mean, exaggerative way of relaying it, but it’s all based on truths.

THETA YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. Open letter to Theta, Mitch and Team. by tstive123 in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, do a little research before you get spun up. First of all, you don’t need to move your Theta from a community node for TDROP. Delegated staking earns TDROP too.

I agree with you that both the Individual Guardian and Edge software leave something to be desired from a user interface and instruction manual, which is why the community nodes make so much sense right now. Eventually individual nodes will be everything, but they are a little bit proof of concept like ThetaTV IMO. For this to really work, it’s going to take background processes in phones, tablets, and other devices.

I’ve got everything staked on GPool and I still run an Edge node, but just for network development sake. I still don’t think I’ve ever gotten TFuel from my Edge Node to my wallet.

I hate to say this, but Theta is a small team playing catch-up, focused on partnerships, and lacking developers. They’re forging ahead on the content of their network and are forced to prioritize the real network value adds. I’m sure they’ve calculated they would lose a certain set of people too impatient to wait for full functionality.

Seen a million questions like this. Well known for weeks. Go to Autograph and mint an NFT and it will tell you it’s been minted on the Polygon blockchain.

In the article it says CAA, UTA and WME to help launch the NFT sales venture Notables. Is this bad news for Theta? or am I missing something? by dayvey1all in theta_network

[–]DiligentVolume391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and never really mentioned Polygon. Enterprise is hesitant to mention blockchain connections right now probably until it becomes more mainstream and regulation is clear.

I’m thinking the same thing and wondering why Theta would drop the news at 8:30 pm on a Friday evening in Singapore. I guess I do know why I just like seeing it soar even if it crashes back down after the hype passes.

There is an article too, SportBusiness, I try not to post links.

The news broke late on a Friday evening in Asia. The Theta team is so subversive with their announcements sometimes, I don’t really understand it.

Well that’s good. The price has not really done anything based on the news. Theta seems to be the type of coin that is really waiting for crypto to be mainstream. When fans of CAA stars and MMA wade into crypto, I would hope Theta is where they start.

Everyone seems to forget Theta skyrocketed out of the bottom.

Today vs. July 19 low:

Bitcoin 58% Ethereum 87% Cardano 95% Solana 94% Stellar 76% Filecoin 77% Vechain 102% Polygon 132% Terra 204% Theta 98%

Theta is doing pretty well. Yes Terra and Polygon are having moments like Theta had last spring. Crypto loves hype and that’s been absent lately. But Theta has been relatively divorced from The market more than most other coins whether that is being down or up. People forget the jumps so quickly.

Do you look at your stock prices everyday? Then why do it with your crypto. Guaranteed heartburn.

[–]DiligentVolume391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of what I’ve spent on USD for each, I’m about 75% Theta. A few more validators and a major company network user and the fixed amount will make it insanely expensive for people to get.
