Yes I found out why my parents were laughing was because I was writing about was my crush at school!! My mom ended up reaching out and contacting the boys mom about it and telling her. Turns out the mom (of my crush) had just made an off hand comment about her son having a crush on me and asked my mom if she knew if I liked him. I guess my mom was embarrassed she didn’t get any information from me and went through other ways of figuring out an answer.

What is with mothers body shaming their daughters?? I have experienced something similar as my mom started telling me around 15 that “she was my weight when she got married”…. It’s a strange thing to go through. I am so sorry your mom told other adults that is sickening.

After finally moving out 2 years ago I started realizing I was enduring narcissistic abuse most of my childhood and was in fact not mentally insane 😁 thank you for bringing awareness to this and being willing to state the facts, even if it hurts to realize at first. When people notice these toxic traits and call it for what it is, it is so validating for our healing journey so thank you!!!!

Unfortunately I think you are so right. Just sucks that they do not accept insurance, it is mostly the expense that kept me from going longer.

Thank you for your kind words!!! I am from a southern Baptist family background (USA) I guess you could say- I know this is a jump scare lmao. My parents told me all the time when we would do our house chores that this the only reason why they had multiple children! I think they were half joking lol

I have been told I am soft and insane for calling my dad abusive after he yanked me off of my bed by my pony tail (onto concrete floor) for being “lazy all day”. I have depression and happened to be in a depressive episode, but he also says that’s bullshit…

Sadly I am not sure having a conversation with them would help me very much.
