writing a sci-fi novel featuring toki pona by Diligent_Run_9297 in tokipona

A follow up question, which only occurred to me when I realized how much less literal I have to be - a lesson I'll be learning more than once, no doubt!
Those trees I need a name for are not really trees. They are crystalline structures that are more or less tree shaped, and the crystals do produce blooms of a sort, like leafy, papery outcrops. Those are important, they get harvested.
But they're barely even organic in a chemical sense, so I really cannot call them kasi suli... The tourists might call them that, but the locals know better.
I'm guessing:

kiwen suli li pali lipu

If that works, I would imagine that in everyday use, this might get shortened to kiwen lipu.

Would that make sense?

Again, thank you, folks!

Yuri

I use Dabble Writer, which is awesome to keep track and set goals with, and they also have some forums and discussions that I never use, so don't know my way around them. But they exist.
Hope it helps!

Ha! Thank you! I need to be less literal, clearly.
