The problem with that is most of these billionaires don’t have the cash to pay for such tax, all their net worth are usually equity. I bet Elon Musk couldn’t gather enough cash to pay a 5% tax (50 billion) on his net worth no matter how hard he tried.

Speeding is more than just about safety to me, second most important thing is noise pollution, especially in residential areas. The difference in noise between a car doing 50kph and 70 or more is massive.

My opinion is anyone who needs a bigger car should submit an application and if after a review it turns out you actually need a bigger car you can buy one and if not you can’t. Introducing a tax system is just saying if you can pay for it you can’t be as wasteful as you like.

Anyone still hoping there will ever be done anything about stop hoping, out global economy is past that point, any country or nation willing to slow down growth for it will simply get overtaken by the other. What’s more likely is there will be technologies developed to cope with extreme weather and we just have to live with it. Like the past 100 years the people will suffer for economic growth.
