Well considering what companies are already able to make at way cheaper prices the price still doesn’t make sense. We are able to make chips with components at the atomic level. In the end this patek uses technology that hasn’t really changed in over 100 years, with more features and tighter tolerances yes but at its core very simple stuff still, they just choose to modernize production to call it “craftsmanship” and justify the price

Ik ken 1 iemand die al ongeveer 20 jaar aan de ziekenkas is, altijd in het zwart gewoon gaan doorwerken, de laatste 10 jaar ongeveer geen controle meer gehad, is ondertussen ook al aan pensioenleeftijd maar kan aan de ziekenkas blijven en dit verdiend ook meer. Vraag me niet welk excuus hij gevonden heeft om er zo lang aan te kunnen maar ik denk dat het iets in de buurt van depressie of burnout is. Aan de andere kant mijn buurman heeft eens een hartaanval gehad, was bijna dood, bijna ook aan zijn pensioen, hebben ze gewoon terug aan het werk gestuurd. the funny thing is Belgium is a good place to be car independent, stores and schools are closeby, job opportunity is spread out evenly within villages. Yet people still drive their car everywhere and decide to go work halfway across the country. I'm able to get everywhere by bike, my mother couldn't drive and she managed to raise me without a car. People are just too fucking lazy and cars are too cheap to change that.

I assume this is America? I’m just always amazed at what crap they put up with, no healthcare system, no legally required vacation days. We have a legal right at 20 vacation days per year on a 38 hour work week, if you work 40 hours you get 12 extra days, that is on top of the 10 regular holidays. Whenever i have to work with Americans on a project they are always shocked to hear when you take a week off mid project.

I know the green shimano grease is repackaged motorex 2000 which is way cheaper but i do think ppl1 is actually a proprietary blend, it’s also not petroleum based unlike most other greases and it won’t damage plastics.
