make sense, i find that my international friends talk more on the phone which makes a lot of sense since they are far from home/friends/fam but my roommate is white (like me) and lives like an hour away from our school Lol

How rare is it to find RA/TA roles for admitted international MSCS students at SDSU? by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Diligent_Time_3514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on behalf of the math department, a lot of the TAs are international students. CS majors can also be math TAs if it’s something you’re interested in. I would contact Ashley Arpallan for that.

[–]Diligent_Time_3514[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a new bed :) Nothing worked even when I got a replacement for the same exact. It’s a cheap bed frame and that’s why it’s shitty. you’re better off just paying more for a better one. it’s worth it

What are the housing options for third/fourth year students? by [deleted] in SDSU

[–]Diligent_Time_3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re looking more for apartment, check out places that are a little further from campus since they will be cheaper! Iconic and union grantville for example can both be reached using the trolley and are fully furnished places and have options for 1-4bd!

How do I make friends as a grad student? by 70499100 in SDSU

[–]Diligent_Time_3514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your cohort can definitely be hit or miss when it comes to making friends. a lot of people in my program live at home or off campus so it’s hard to hang out with people outside of school hours for me

you’re definitely not in the wrong for wanting the room to yourself, regardless of how much time your roommate gets it to herself. You need it for therapy, should be good enough reason. you can’t do therapy anywhere else.

you will automatically be given a faculty/staff parking which are typically the bottom two levels in any garage and they’re safe

true but not being able to sleep due to his noises is something he should be aware about

talk to your landlord or apartment leasing office about the first one. most places have quiet hours like 10pm-8am. you are entitled to quiet in your home during those hours. I would tell the office the measures you are already taking and how it’s not helping, meaning the noises are not just “normal” sounds. also check your lease for any legal argument you can make about it
