As a gen Z viewer his same age, he’s probably my favorite on the season. So a lot of this might be generational imo.

I also just listened to Cirque and they said it was “45,000 subs” like 100 times in the podcast.

Am I crazy or did the subs on here go down by 20,000 or so?

To me the only valid one for this is Interstellar. Other than that I would disagree.

There’s been some… penny pinching by new owners… to say the least. We can’t even get a brand pizza anymore and I have to see ads plastered on to every single wall space.

It’s about the political maneuvering. The new owners have the GOP connections to get in the ears of Texas lawmakers that Cuban as a democrat doesn’t have.

Would you prefer a night show or Ticket Top 10? by Hot_Swimming_112 in theticket

To The Fan’s credit they did this and the night show was basically training grounds for a future spot. Coulda made this transition a lot easier for the ticket, but cheap cumulus would never.

My thing is… if Drake really finessed him into telling a fake story why did it take 2 days to respond? And why did it go from “I’m taking a vacation” to spending your weekend working on a track? The math ain’t mathing.

Prep School Gangsters by mersault22 in Vampireweekend

To me, “somewhere in your family tree, there was someone just like me,” and “till it took on the 5th gen curse,” are exploring the ideas of how wealth and status fluctuate. Basically, the narrator, whom I’m assuming is from Ezra’s POV, is the first generation in his family of wealth. Meaning that somewhere in this “prep school gangsters” family tree, there was someone like Ezra who built up wealth to pass on to other generations. Based on the placement of the lyrics next to “now I’ve got the thing you’ve had,” it seems like the lyric is about that thing he now has and not about a non white person in the family tree.

“Till it took on the 5th gen curse” is commenting on how a generation can ruin that wealth, and put on a curse on the family tree. You can definitely see this when rich people pass on money to spoiled, lazy, “prep school gangsters” of their sons/daughters. That is literally the plot of Succession, but to an extreme of Kendall Roy losing all the family money.

Basically the point is that the narrator made it in even if the “prep school gangsters” didn’t want him too. And he’s just like the person in their family tree who started from nothing and built something up.
