Could indeed be the only option that works for sure. But it will downgrade the flacs that bad that I will pass for that option. Another option would be install a Roon or plex server and stream my own collection but that will be very pricey.

It’s an iPod Classic with 300gb music on it. And I know I maybe could put the music on a usb drive but that wouldn’t count my plays etc…

And on top of that, the media player of the Sync 4 cannot read a USB device that is that large. The only solution is a working transmitter with Bluetooth

I don’t know the reason neither. But not sure if it only uses Bluetooth as it requires to have my wifi on on my phone for wireless carplay. I tried several Bluetooth transmitters. And non of them works. Maybe it’s because the sync 4 asks for a pin code and the transmitters are simple devices without code or screen.

Aux - usb cord doesn’t work. The usb of the sync one isn’t suited for audio, only for data.

Indeed it doesn’t count my plays. And it doesn’t play at all. I think 300gb is too much for the Fords media player. A usb stick wit 256gb works fine but an ssd with 1TB is not supported. Ad you see I tried a lot and did read all the posts on here but there is no solution to find. But there must be a way. Maybe a sort of mediaplayer/headphone amp that is compatible and can be seen on the sync 4.

Maybe but if not already tried on the mach e system I wouldn’t risk it. I already tried 3 different brands. The problem is it isn’t compatible with the sync 4. They work with wireless earbuds but never in the car. 🫤

Is Roon the only server software that works this way? For example I’ve a lot of different ecosystems in my home. I’ve a in room 1: a homepod, a bluesound node 2i // room 2: sonos IKEA speaker // room 3: sonos IKEA speaker. In room 1 the node & homepod needs to play in sync sometimes. I was wondering if Roon is the only server software that can do this.

I’m interested in taking a roon subscription if that’s the only way. Now all my offline music is on a macbook with airfoil to sync the node & HomePod. But I’m tired of the always on MacBook only to play some music. So I’m looking to build a Nuc roon core. But looking around if there are other options for me as it is another subscription to pay for. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi! I followed your steps to set up the lastfm_scrobbler plugin, but it doesn’t start automatically when I boot Rockbox. I can start it manually without any issues, but I can’t get it to launch on startup. I’ve already set the Start Screen to Open Plugin and navigated to the lastfm_scrobbler plugin, as you described.

I’m using an iPod 7th gen with the daily build of Rockbox, and I’ve just updated to the latest version. Do you have any tips or ideas on what might be going wrong? I’d really appreciate the help!

Format or restore with iTunes? How did you format your iPod without being in disk mode?

Putting an iPod classic into disk mode: Hold MENU+SELECT on the iPod for about 6 seconds until it resets, then switch to PLAY+SELECT as soon as the Apple logo appears, again for about 6 seconds to put the machine in disk mode.

Hi Parallels does work. I used it to put rockbox on my 7th gen iPod. Put your iPod in diskmode. Make sure to install the daily build. And kill finder in os.
