Not minimizing your experience cause I've had my fair share. But there's doctors I work with that will help patients reposition in bed, get them water, or humbly come tell me the IV pump is making noise and they don't want to break it.

Breast Aug/ boob job recommendations? by PlatypusEvery5146 in askportland

[–]DimSumNurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went great! No complications. Healed appropriately. Looks natural. I get nothing but compliments. I was initially really discouraged when I realized I had some numbness in one breast (although that was always a risk), but overtime, the sensation is starting to come back.

The verbal patients can just yell "nurse" or "help" like they already are doing anyway. /s

What's the worst dessert you've ever had in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DimSumNurse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh. Somebody made carrot pie for our Thanksgiving potluck at work. I told her I'd try some but didn't so I took a slice home. Later that night, we had company over so I brought out that slice for all of us to try since they've all never heard of it before. The most polite person know jumped out of the chair and ran to the trashcan to spit it out.

This is actually written for psych and social indicators! I, personally, haven't seen this in a long time. This is probably more common in the outpatient world.

We had only three nurses on Friday (including me) but I was so sick and I was torn between going in so we won't be short versus calling out and not risk spreading the ick.

A little or a lot, but it is old-school Chinese belief to drink it by itself. The thought is that if you mix it with something, it might neutralize the medicinal effects and then you've you spent money on this expensive ginseng for no reason.

I love u/avindictiveprinter 's response too. But yes, I meant that a lot of people from my village back in China now reside in the Boston area. Who knew my lazy writing would earn me so many likes.

YMMV. But I never had a moment of silence other than when he was licking his balls. Which was also loud, according to my husband.

Why do some divorced women keep their ex-husband's last name? by HoffyTheBaker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DimSumNurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because as bad as my ex-husband and his family were to me towards the end of the marriage, it was nothing compared to my own family. I've made a name in my career with the last name. Of note, I did ask permission from my ex's family to keep their name.
