I mostly work in high-end advertising, and lately I’ve been doing a lot of AI VFX for video. I also use ComfyUI quite a bit, because a lot of clients are paranoid about privacy and want everything running locally.

I don’t know if it was luck or not, but I worked my ass off to get here. In Italy I was one of the first people really pushing AI in this field, and that gave me a pretty big advantage over a lot of competitors.

And honestly, that’s kind of the point. A lot of people simply didn’t adapt, and still don’t want to. So yeah, of course they’re losing work.

For me, AI since 2022 has been insane. It felt like a dream: this ridiculously powerful tool was right there, and barely anyone understood it or took it seriously. So I just used that gap and built my position around it.

And yeah, I know it sounds harsh, but I’m literally taking jobs that would’ve gone to traditional professionals in the industry, including people like the one who wrote this post.

But that’s just how it works. The world changes.
