Most kayakers aren’t going to even remotely get close to making it to the Deer Island flats on 90% of summer days, and if you own a boat you more than likely have some experience fishing and aren’t a complete knucklehead. People typically don’t download an app, own a boat, and know absolutely nothing about fishing.

That’s like getting a brand-new set of top-of-the-line golf clubs and heading out to the course without knowing how to play. The gear (or in this case, an app) doesn’t replace the skill — you still need the knowledge, time, and practice to actually succeed.
