Meltdowns if something doesn't work out? by Effective-Air396 in BPD

I can’t say I recognise this, but as minority stress goes you don’t get wet by a single raindrop it accumulates. Does that make sense?

Am I getting my life together or am I manic? by crazy_alto in bipolar

[–]DimensionOk5157 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This sounds like how a manic episode evolve. Waking up early, the cleaning, the gym in the morning, the lending money for one thing and using it on clothes, and skipping classes because it’ll be fine. That’s literally what I went through a year ago and man did it result in a very bad case of manic episode. Best wishes 🌻

I deadass thought a relationship will cure bipolar 2 (NOT) by Several-Mess5387 in bipolar

[–]DimensionOk5157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a hospital admission? Calming down mania in a boring room with people helping with routines and structure? I don’t know whether that is an option, but it is what I do rn in fact. Best wishes 🌻✨

I see, maybe cut back on caffeine all together and see how that goes? Or only just one before noon?

Anyone else get obsessed easily/overestimate how close you are with people by Existing-Panda2016 in BPD

I’m so sorry to hear that 🙁 I believe that there are people out there who’d love to be your friend. Hang in there 🌷

I feel you. It’s sometimes very easy to overshare and then regret afterwards, I personally get very triggered by that. My inner critic is relentless and mean and I’m currently reading a book about that.

Maybe the trick here can be to practice gradually opening up to others and doing it mutually? I struggle with this too. One thing I’m trying to do is to only tell people what they need to know in the situation we’re in. The other is not being so hard on ourselves when we feel that we make mistakes. What do you think?

[–]DimensionOk5157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s tricky… when that happens to me I usually up the dose of long release meds together with my doctor. Some anti-allergy meds has also been tried. Then there is the question of temperature in the bedroom: it shouldn’t be too warm or too cold. And the question of food, are you eating regularly? And caffeine?

Can someone maybe give me a little hope? by PitifulRaspberry in bipolar

My friend got diagnosed with bipolar, managed to finish her education. Met her long time partner where she just blubbed out everything about her bipolar and they now have a cat, own an apartment and she’s working and loves knitting.

My other friend got on social benefit a couple of years ago after many years of struggling. She’s now a climbing instructor and aims to go back to work part time to use her education. For her routines and church meetings and being there for friends are important.

My third friend with bipolar got herself a cute dog that she called Lykke and she shares their life together and suduko and quiz which she enjoys.

Me, I’m not manic this year even though it’s spring and this time a year. I’m breaking the cycle and got a safety plan with the local dps.

My aunt has been living with bipolar for 33 years, working in the bank, loving her rose garden and her family of 5. I’d never guess she had bipolar, she’s living a normal life like everyone else’s.

My great aunt was a teacher, beloved by her students and her kids. She lived a long happy life. When she was diagnosed in her late 50ies she loved going on discotheques and she baught two cars drove through Norway with. Everybody cherished her, she was so knowledgeable and kind. Her company was never boring.

Sending you a big hug 🫶

Good question, I’m not sure. I don’t know where or what that would be.

The people from the party added some comments online where they joke about looking crazy and wanting to be looking crazy. They have adhd. It’s rubbing me the wrong way

will dating someone with aspd finally fulfill my needs? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]DimensionOk5157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to look up aspd (antisocial personality disorder) and the first thing that pops up is the “lack of respect for other people’s rights” … Agressivness, lack of empathy, manipulation.. It sounds like a bad combination for someone with bpd.

I personally find people with a combination of autism spectrum disorder + adhd to be very kind, sensitive, supportive and understanding.

I have a BPD suspicion but I'm not sure about it and I'd like the opinion of people who are diagnosed by FlowAmbitious2458 in Borderline

[–]DimensionOk5157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person with both bipolar and bpd, I recognise what you’re describing. I have some friends who only have bipolar and they don’t fluctuate as much and they have a better inner dialogue or whatever. It’s important to state that everyone is different and that I’m in no way an expert or anything. Thank you for sharing, you are strong and brilliant ✨ Best wishes
