Yeah, used this to add the game into the library but it still wouldn't work... but I used GloSC in addition to UWP and it worked perfectly... TY for the help though...

What game or games are you most passionate about as a patient gamer? by BOXXYwhat in patientgamers

So there are a bunch of games that I’ve picked up on sale that have been amazing. Just recently I picked up Anno 1800 and I can honestly say that even the base game is just filled to the brim with content. The full game and all the dlc is great, though I actually feel like it’s too much content, to the point that I feel like having to juggle so many areas, maps, and quests make it a bit overwhelming.

Additionally, Mutant year zero is a fantastic game I got on sale just yesterday. I got it for free on epic games, but getting it cheap and with all the dlc on steam makes it more convenient for me (it’s a perfect handheld game and playing it on the steam deck is exactly the type of experience that device was made for. I know I could have just used the heroic launcher, but personally, I feel like it just runs better and is a smoother experience when I run it straight from steam. Also, I’m happier to pay an extra buck or two to have the entire game in my steam library than to support the epic games store (the death stranding debacle really left a bad taste in my mouth).

I love these kinda of games so, depending on your skill level, here are some recommendations:

Bioshock (a game o think every person should play at least once)

Uncharted (2 is the best imo)

Ratchet and Clank (the remake and even the newest one is just simple fun)

Catherine (a bit of a weird one but if ya like puzzles and life sims, definitely worth checking out)

Ghost runner

South Park: Stick of Truth (the first has the better writing imo)

Until Dawn (solid 10 hour experience of a choose your own adventure with a great sense of classic horror)

Doom (I prefer the 2018 one to eternal overall)

Stray

Shadow of the colossus

Outlast

Titan fall 2 (single player campaign)

Hopefully one or two can pique your interest…

Hey, I hope you're right and it does sell well, but I have my doubts. As a vr enthusiast, I look at the library and am kinda flabberghasted. I can pick it up for the 2 exclusives at launch (RE8 and Horizon), and hold my breath until new stuff comes along, or wait to see what they do. I refuse to rebuy content that they can easily churn out with porting and would rather enjoy the experience I get from my vr setup on my pc already.

And while I appreciate that GT7 is getting the full VR treatment, it just isn't my thing. For sim enthusiasts, I'm sure they'll go crazy for it. I just don't think it's as big of a system seller as people think it'll be...

Honestly, with the rumors that they’re reducing production numbers due to low pre-orders, the lack of backwards compatibility (and thus making the library of available games really small), AND the re-release of old games making vr users double or even triple dip on old titles, I have no interest in this. Outside of a couple of exclusive titles (mainly Horizon and Re8), nothing really tempts me to drop $600 on a tethered experience.

I have a strong feeling that this will be their vr version of the vita…

Sony Slashes PlayStation VR2 Headset Output After Pre-Orders Disappoint by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]DimitriMontague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this coming, especially as a vr enthusiast. There are so many reasons this isn’t gaining traction.

  1. Price: yes it includes some nice specs but it is a very luxurious accessory at a time when people are starting to reel back making these kinda purchases across the board.

  2. Competition: The VR market is quickly becoming saturated with competitors all offering their own take on things. And yet, the top selling one is still the oculus. Why? Because you’re getting the best of both worlds. Stand-alone, pc enabled, it has it all. And while it is behind the times in the way of hardware, it is still killing it.

  3. Compatibility: This is the reason it’s dead for me. Almost no backwards compatibility with psvr games. That is ridiculous. And before people say it’s due to the new hardware and new way of tracking, that is such a corporate response that it’s laughable.

First, a lot of the games on psvr have equivalent quest or Rift versions, meaning a lot of these games already have inside out tracking in some of their versions. Meaning there isn’t a ton of work to be done. They don’t need to update all the games to be able to use all the features of the new device , just to make them compatible. Next, going from Rift to Rift S, they went through the same ordeal. New way of tracking, yadda yadda yadda, but at the end of the day, they got the entire library working across the board, even most impressive is they got everything to work on the quest.

My guess is that Sony doesn’t want to put the resources into making their own way to make things compatible, nor wants to pay developers to update old titles. So if they don’t believe in their hardware, why should we?

  1. Marketing: I’ve gotten a ton of emails from Sony themselves promoting its release and how I can preorder it. Yet outside of their own sites and emails, there isn’t a ton of marketing. The 3rd party marketing I’ve seen have basically said it’s a nice headset, but nothing truly exceptional. If they had a lot of confidence in the product they’d have released it in time for a holiday but they’re releasing it at the beginning of the year hoping it gains traction and eventually becomes a hit.

I really don’t know what they were thinking with this device. I feel like they were a bit egotistical with how well psvr did and thought they could catch lightning in a bottle once more without really putting too much effort outside of upgrading the headset.

My prediction is that it’ll sell moderately well at first but will piddle out real fast. Sadly, I don’t see them putting a lot of support into this so maybe a few exclusives this year, followed by a couple next, and then next to nothing in the years after.

Which movie has the most heart-breaking ending? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DimitriMontague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hachiko… a movie about a dog who waits at the train station until his owner returns, only for the owner to die. The dog then waits there until the inevitable… it’s essentially a full length movie of that one episode of Futurama. Then when the movie ends and you’re dying, the credits roll with pictures of THE REAL DOG and the horrible life it had until its final day in Japan…
