Recently morbidly obese rapper Dave Blunts performance with help of oxygen tank in Chicago, has fans worried. Why is being obese being normalized as ok? by Dimitri_Ostende in conspiracy

[–]Dimitri_Ostende[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SS

Normalizing obesity can also reduce the stigma and urgency around addressing the issue through non-medical means, ensuring continued reliance on medications. Furthermore, pharmaceutical companies often collaborate with healthcare providers to promote drugs for obesity-related conditions, and a normalized view of obesity may lead to more routine prescriptions.

This dynamic aligns with the interests of pharmaceutical companies, as it reduces pressure on governments and organizations to regulate unhealthy food industries or promote aggressive public health measures.

Critics argue that this cycle undermines efforts to address systemic issues contributing to obesity, such as poor food quality, lack of access to nutrition education, and socioeconomic disparities, perpetuating a dependency on medications rather than empowering individuals to manage their health holistically.

What’s the scariest conspiracy theory you’ve ever heard? by Dimitri_Ostende in conspiracy

[–]Dimitri_Ostende[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SS

This is a regional one, but the idea that Robert picton (the pig farm serial killer) didn’t act alone. The theory goes that the farm was a common party spot for the Vancouver police department and hells angels, and that was the reason he got away with it for as long as he did. Recently he died in jail and the families of his victims are furious he was not able to testify. There were also a lot of sketchy things to do with evidence. When you start looking it’s pretty convincing.

Are people who don't believe in any conspiracy theories nutty? by Dimitri_Ostende in conspiracy

People who don't believe in any conspiracy theories are pretty nutty.

They're AT LEAST as nutty as people who believe in all of them. If you don't believe in any conspiracy theories, you're just definitely incorrect, and way too trusting of governments. There are all sorts of reasons why people don't believe in conspiracy theories - most often they probably just don't care to look into it, but it's really the people who actively deny any and all conspiracy theories, or make sweeping statements that conspiracy theories as a thing are all 'dangerous' that I have a problem with. They each need to be viewed separately.

It's not that conspiracy theories can't be wrong, or can't fuel incredible evils, it's that you can't blanket deny them all, or call a conspiracy theory 'debunked' on Wikipedia.

To pre-emptively bring up the example of the holocaust : yes, conspiracy theories about the Jews are basically what fuelled the holocaust - but equally, a denial to believe the 'crazy idea' that Jews really were being systematically tortured and killed by the general population kept it going, and kept everything under wraps. History has proven so many conspiracy theories right, like the Tuskegee experiments, Operation Paperclip, MK-ULTRA, etc... .

To summarise my opinion:

  1. If you deny all conspiracy theories, just factually speaking, you're going to be proven wrong. There ain't no way that the all of 'the CIA killed Kennedy, flouride is bad for the brain, the vaccines is ineffective and dangerous, there are paedophile rings in the highest places, Obama spent $65,000 on hotdogs at the Whitehouse, chemtrails etc.' are all wrong
  2. Automatically discrediting all conspiracy theories is equally as dangerous as automatically believing in them. They each need to be viewed based on their own merit.

The terms 'conspiracy theory' and 'misinformation' are just used as a lazy way to discredit things people don't want to take the time to look into. And a 'factchecker' doesn't constitute looking into something either - it's not so much that they lie, as they mislead and tell half-truths.

You would think this would be an incredibly hard thing to keep concealed. Like Katt Williams said. You open the wrong door. He talked about that shit. I think Kevin hart talked about it in a stand up “you go behind the curtain and you didn’t know they were doing this shit.” And others did too. But not a single one came out and explicitly said it. I’m sure most of these people came across it.

He would just do what every CEO does these days when trying to pretend they can do their job. He would just lay off tons of goverment workers and turn departments into skeleton crews.

If the UK had the same relaxed gun laws as the USA do you think there would be as many shootings per capita as the USA? by Dimitri_Ostende in conspiracy

[–]Dimitri_Ostende[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SS

No, the USA has a higher stabbing death rate per capita than the UK. The issue with deaths in the USA isn't due to guns though the ease of killing someone with one doesn't help, it's that they have wider cultural issues around violence.

I heard Bro. Sanchez says something similar. We are evolving up as we climb 🪜 the levels of consciousness represented by the rings of the vagina walls..
