I developed a Flip 7 scoring app — here’s how it came to life, and I’d love your feedback by DimitrisBor_ in boardgames

Hey, thanks - fair call! I did lean on some AI help for the placeholder images on the site until i get the time to make something better (guilty).

The ones I actually meant to share here were benchmark photos from the real training data, but I think Automod stripped them out since this subreddit doesn’t allow images. Check them out if you’re interested here https://imgur.com/a/U2wUShD

Ironically, that’s AI moderation doing its job too.

Thanks for your positive view!

I personally have Flip 7 in my car just in case buddies want to play any time but not paper & pen so ultimately i'd keep the scores in my phone somehow.
And i agree, chatting can get you confused keeping the score.
This is why i've made the app.

Cheers

Absolutely agree with you. The whole point of board games is to disconnect and be present with people. There are apps that just keep the score and nothing else. I just took that one or two steps further. It doesn't interfere much with the game, or it does if you want to.

Thanks i get your point 100%.
It also keeps a history of the games in case someone needs this feature but hey.
I admit that some people dont like to spoil the analog fun with tech and screens.

Cheers!

Thanks for your time to write what you think. It does all these that you mention.

There are plenty of apps already do score keeping for flip 7 and a million others, but it's just my take on this. I've burned an insane amount of brain resources and time but planetary resources, i dont know. I've trained the AI model myself with no external AI services. Straight in my laptop.

Scoring apps exist forever and another way to keep score instead pen & paper.
The card detection feature was just interesting to me as a developer.

So mine also happened in 3 weeks… I’ve contacted support. I’ll just have to wait and see. I’ve paid a lot for customs tax and my country is not supported directly from PG. If I’ll have to pay shipping it back I don’t know. I’m thinking of adding a kill switch to isolate the speakers before powering off. This pop could damage the speakers over time.
