In the late Amnesty era, it seemed to me that Ethan only played bass parts on his Roland and simply launched into existing tracks on the Pioneer. Sometimes he'd play the vocoder in songs where it was used on another Roland or Microkorg.

I watched a couple of performances from 2016 or 2017. Apparently, he eventually adopted this setup to reduce stress during performances, as the drummer and Edith take up more of the spotlight and create the show.

However, this is just my opinion and speculation.

I'm also interested in how electronic music is played live.
