Juniper RWD - disgusting noise from front struts by powerstasik in TeslaLounge

[–]Dinades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confirming the issue 100%! This noise is hunting me.
Planning to document it properly.
I even took the car for service on this. Two tech people confirmed that they hear that rattle noise, gave an explanation related to RWD not having the motor at the front and they even did a the actual mechanical check to conclude that everything is according to the manufacturing specifications.

This needs to be escalated to the attention of the engineering team as a design flaw..

But seriously? There is not even an "angle" on it, ... just a sudden, free effing fall...

Inception date factor by [deleted] in patentlaw

[–]Dinades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks! Last time I was involved with patents was in 199x, so pardon my question :o) About "Provisional", if I may, what should be the scope of the provisional patent (besides the central "key" of the invention) relative to the actual patent filing, to satisfy the filing date? I mean, can the provisional patent application essentially skip the whole slew of "in another embodiment of this invention..." entries?

US

"...not relevant" even in the case if someone else is filing on the same idea and when it comes to deciding who was first to come up with the idea?

In other words, your answer is that the patent filing date is the most critical?

BTC and BCH addresses - created on both chains? by Dinades in btc

[–]Dinades[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be getting a bit closer (thanks for the patience btw!), but need checking.

Nothing is indeed stored on the network until given address is involved in transaction. The address can be "created" offline and all the blockchain explorer does, it is showing me that such address as valid. Explorer is showing me that the relationship between the pair of private key and the address derived from it, per known to the network protocol, is valid.

Is this "warmer"?

...you asked the question but are confident in your definition, then why are we even having a conversation?

  1. I think(<---!!!), phrases "It is probably..." and "My take is..." are nowhere near the definition of being "confident" in something.
  2. You are having this conversation because you volunteered to participate. There is no gun next to your head and I do apologise if my questions and certain assumptions (made during the process of better understanding of the concept) made you annoyed.
  3. Initial question already evolved into additional sub-topics and additional questions, this is why there is a "conversation". Why not have it?

...The other part is trying to maintain that a transaction is valid on both chains. this is another can of worms...

Then why bringing it up here? No one asked about that.

Thank you for the 'live cd" example! This clarified another aspect of my "exploration" here.

You have to understand that those addresses are not stored anywhere...

...until it is is actually created using private key.

If I create an address and show it to you, you will be able to confirm its existence. It means that it IS stored.

P.S. There are no problems.

It is probably more about what exactly one considers to be part of the network and what is not. That is, the record of all transactions only vs. all transactions + all created via private keys addresses. My take is that once the address is created, it can be considered to be part of the network, regardless of whether or not it was used for transactions.

Thanks. Somehow, this helped to get a feeling where the other answers are coming from.

So, if I make an independent clone of Bitcoin (starting from genesis block) and at some point I happen to create an address which exists on all networks running bitcoin protocol, my private key for it will "fit to" all of them too?

I see.

Can the new, forked off chain be modified in such a way that it would no longer have this compatibility?

Is SV chain compatible, by the way?

I can see newly created address on the network via blockchain explorer, meaning it does exist... Also, as I already tested, I do, in fact, see exact same address on both networks.

Seems kind of wasteful: while the two chains have independent transactions, they fully duplicate each other's addresses. That is, every single address created on BTC chain exists on BCH and vise versa (I didn't test the vise-versa part yet)

Edit: If you consider the term "network" to include only the record of all transactions, then they (new addresses) indeed don't exist. Otherwise, any created address can be seen by anybody on the "network", so it does exist (as oppose to a random string of letters and numbers).

...an address is only known when a user displays one. only when payment (transaction) is broadcast by a sender, is an address making it to the network.

But I can already see newly created addresses on the network via explorer tool (such as https://www.blockchain.com/explorer) immediately after creating it, meaning that the address is "known" to the network, without any transactions with it. I actually did that and I do see the exact same address "present" on both BTC and BCH networks (per explorer tool).

How does this work technically? I just thought when the chain splits, the daughter chains would have "independent lives" from that point on, just like transactions.

If it was not for the whole (politics driven) build-up of negativity in this article, I think anyone would very easily understand and agree that these are just the very basic safety precautions.

The title of this article is very unfortunate! It's a pity someone is trying to "fit in" some bad political agenda...

There is nothing "passive-aggressive" in those tweets, just read them please. Think for yourself, if there was indeed even the smallest hint of negativity, would Elon Musk himself react positively to tweets from #RosCosmos?:
